Two men linked to Paris attacks registered as migrants in Greece: police
Athens (AFP) -Â
Two men who French police are seeking to trace in connection with the Paris attacks registered as refugees with Greek authorities earlier this year, the Greek police confirmed on Saturday.
French authorities had asked their Greek counterparts to check a passport and fingerprints of one man and the fingerprints of another who were thought to have registered in Greece, which is the main entry point into Europe for Syrian refugees.
At least one Syrian passport was found at the scene of the Stade de France attack.
Greek minister for citizen protection, Nikos Toskas, said in a statement that one of the men had been registered on the Greek island of Leros in October.
"We confirm that the (Syrian) passport holder came through the Greek island of Leros on October 3 where he was registered under EU rules," said a statement issued by Toskas.
French police said the passport was found "near the body of one of the attackers" in the investigation into the main attack of Friday's carnage, at the Bataclan concert hall, where 82 people were killed.
The authenticity of the passport was being checked, but its discovery indicates a possible Syrian connection which has been a working hypothesis for investigators after assailants hit six separate locations in Paris.
A Greek police source said the second man had also registered in Greece, with TV station Mega adding this was also on Leros in August.
European security officials had long feared that jihadists could take advantage of the mass migration influx, mainly from war-torn Syria, that Europe has been experiencing since the beginning of the year.
And our idiot in chief wants to let in tens of thousands of these immigrants with no background checks or anything

So glad that I am not the only one that is concerned about that.
Was just reading about the attacks further.
There is a picture showing dead bodies in the theater where they were killed execution style.
Saw this comment on the web;
Whether Muslims understand or not, it is what it is. America cannot continue to be reckless with immigration.
I think we need to go to a FULLÂ STOP on immigration. Period.
Our Homeland security said they are investigating 900-1000 plots at this moment, in this country.
Can you imagine when a coordinated attack like over in France happens here in America and there are lets say just 25 of those 900 as bad as we just saw.
Then martial law is invoked and the next election suspended.....starting to get my drift.
Maybe the current level of politician is not naive but smart like a fox, doing these very poor judgement things on purpose.....whose side are they , those that run the country now, on. The very day this event happened in France our dear leader said that ISIS was contained, don't think so, duh.Â
He is letting them off the hook , why.Â
It took Russia coming in there to start delivering the mail to them.
We know the face of evil and the address and it is time to start delivering the mail but we wont do it and keep fooling around, why.
We are being taken over right under our very own eyes and do not realize it. By this invasion of way too many immigrants to assimilate into our way of culture. And if they do not intend to change to our way then maybe they should not come her.
I am speculating of course, and just IMO, of course, as I guess of what in theory could happen, but I fear it.
Very scary stuff.
I am going to post what I was talking about.....so here goes;

President Barack Obama said that ISIS was 'contained' just a day before the terrorist group claimed responsibility for a horrific attack in Paris that killed 128 people on Friday.
In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that aired on Friday's broadcast of Good Morning America, Obama declared that he didn't believe ISIS (also known as ISIL) was gaining strength.Â
'What is true is that from the start, our goal has been first to contain and we have contained them,' Obama said in the interview. 'They have not gained ground in Iraq, and in Syria they’ll come in, they’ll leave, but you don’t see this systemic march by ISIL across the terrain.'
Since Friday's attacks in Paris, several social media users, including Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, have criticized the comments made by Obama, who set off for the two-day Group of 20 summit in Antalya, Turkey, on Saturday.Â

Obama was criticized by several social media users, including Donald Trump (top)
'President Obama said "ISIL continues to shrink" in an interview just hours before the horrible attack in Paris. He is just so bad! CHANGE,' Trump wrote on Twitter.
Obama said in his interview that aired on Friday that he had been unable to 'completely decapitate ISIS'.
'What we have not yet been able to do is to completely decapitate their command and control structures,' he said.Â
Obama condemns series of terror attacks across Paris
'We’ve made some progress in trying to reduce the flow of foreign fighters, and part our goal has to be to recruit more effective Sunni partners in Iraq to really go on offense rather than simply engage in defense.'
A senior administration official explained the connection between Obama's comments and Friday's attack on Paris to CNN.Â
'We, including the President, have said from beginning the fight against ISIL would be long and have both good and bad days,' the official said.Â
ISIS has quickly grown during the Obama administration, from an organization the president once called al Qaeda's 'JV (junior varsity) team' to the force that it is today.Â

Obama has seen some success against the terror group, through 'trying to reduce the flow of foreign fighters' and drone strikes, one of which may have killed 'Jihadi John', the ISIS executioner who killed several people in propaganda videos.Â
'It means exactly what he said,' the senior official said about Obama's comments. 'Their (ISIS's) momentum in terms of territorial gains in Iraq and Syria has been contained/halted.'
US Officials have deferred to the French investigation into what occurred on Friday night in Paris.Â
'At this early stage, we have seen nothing that contradicts President Hollande's assessment of the situation,' a senior US intelligence official told CNN, referring to the French casting blame on ISIS.
'This is a French counterterrorism investigation and we are working with French officials to provide any assistance they may need,' the official said. 'When they are able to share information and we, in turn, are able to share public details, we will do so.'Â
