Cuomo, a three-term governor, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, the day his son Andrew started his second term as governor, the New York governor's office confirmed.

He was 82.

The PGA of America confirmed the death of Sifford, who recently suffered a stroke. No cause of death was given.

Earl Lloyd during his time with the Syracuse Nationals. Lloyd, the first black player in NBA history, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015.

He was 86.

Lloyd's alma mater, West Virginia State, confirmed the death. It did not provide
details. Lloyd made his NBA debut in 1950 for the Washington Capitals, just before fellow black players Sweetwater Clifton and Chuck Cooper played their first games.

Hall of Famer Schayes, a 12-time All-Star who refined the big man's role in the infancy of the National Basketball Association, has died.

He was 87.

Schayes was diagnosed with terminal cancer six months ago and died Thursday, Dec. 10,
2015, after being stricken with a severe
infection, his son Danny Schayes said.

Thanks Ice. Many of these people I wasn't even aware had gone home to glory.
Most of them made me think "why are they mentioned?" run of the mill politicians especially and ho hum athletes. Donna douglas was one I remember well from beverly hillbillies. Damn near all the actors on that show have died. I think max baer may be the only one still around. Almost all the entertainers and interesting people from my childhood have died.
