TMZ reports former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle was assaulted in prison in late January.

The website reports Fogle's attacker is a fellow inmate named Steven Nigg.

TMZ reports Nigg started punching Fogle in the recreation yard at the Englewood federal prison in Littleton, Colorado.

Fogle ended up with a bloody nose and swollen face.

Nigg was sent to solitary confinement as a punishment.

Fogle was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison in November after his conviction of possessing child pornography and crossing state lines to pay for sex with underage prostitutes.

Nigg's family told TMZ Nigg is angry because so many child sex predators are housed at the low-security prison, and Fogle was the final straw for him.

Fogle's attorney had no comment on the alleged attack.

I have absolutely NO sympathy for this idiot! Anybody who robs a child of childhood, needs far worse than this....

I'm surprised that's all he's gotten. He should be skinned alive. Must be in a PC yard. His time will come, it's all a waiting game and the only thing his new roommates have is time.

I am with you JC_ I don't feel sorry for him at all. What he did to those kids, we all know what they do to child sex criminals in prison. This is just the beginning.

in america do they segregate those in for sex crimes?
or is he in the general population?

I'm not sure on that... Maybe general population.. That way he can "get his" just rewards...

I'm not totally sure I go along with what was said. Yes, he apparently committed crimes but he got a sentence. 15 years is not a slap on the wrist. That means he will be much older when he gets out and will be labeled a sex predator. Most communities restrict those people to certain areas or ban them altogether. He will not be able to get a job and will likely be homeless. I don't really feel sorry for him, but I see he was convicted of paying minors for sex and receiving pornography. So apparently his victims were willing and not someone in his care. Does everyone want him dead? I would rather see those bankers get beat up in prison the ones who robbed us out of billions of dollars.

If people think the penalties are too lenient then vote for the next dirtbag politician promising to give them life in prison. I've seen cases where pedos got less time than that for worse crimes. Basically, he committed or tried to commit prostitution with minors, which is not good but lets try to be balanced here and not just join the baying pack. Killers get off many times with less prison, sometimes as little as 3 years served.

Grandote, I respect your views. But he is a child sex felon and should be labeled a sex offender. I don't feel sorry for him or what happens to him. He probably still will be a millionaire when he gets out, and he will live comfortable. Once a child sex offender, I am told this is near impossible to cure, so he will have the means to continue discreetly. I have a daughter, and he hurt someone's daughter, many of them.

I assumed it was half... but somewhere I heard he was worth $30 million before. I hope they took it all. I keep thinking he probably stashed something in the Cayman's for another day..

He still owes the govt money for the millions in fines. He brought it on himself, I'm just talking about fairness. Should anyone convicted of any sort of sex crime with anyone under 18 be put to death? If not, what is a reasonable sentence? 15 years and 8 months is a lot. According to the report I read he paid for encounters. What should his sentence have been if 15 years and a couple million is not enough? Or is it enough? He won't get paroled with all the publicity he got and if he has any money left after the lawyers, the lawsuits will grab all of that.

Someone tell me what he should have gotten? I never said he was innocent or should get a break but being beat up on top of all that and people wishing him dead... Tell us what the sentence should have been?

OK Grandote ..I want to meet you in the middle here, but it it is hard. This was not a one time thing.. an accident he had porn with 6 year old girls on his computer, I would like to end this... and I am that is it.
