Just wanted to say greetings to all.  I don't have a lot of experience with forums on the 'net other than the forum on a much-used (and currently very backed up on orders) IOP, so it is going to take me some time to figure out how all of this works.  To introduce myself in brief, I'm a grandfather in my mid-50's with another grandchild on the way, and a  project manager for a giant hardware and software company, worked on the hardware and software professional services side of the company for the last 10 years, and  for similar firms in the same capacity for about 15 years, and have just recently transferred to the human resources department to manage projects dealing with the onboarding of personnel from firms that we acquire or merge with - I'm hoping the work in my new position is a bit less stressful, as the past 25 years have made a wreck of me...I have chronic anxiety disorder, insomnia, and ADHD, but aside from a completely missing disk at L1/S2 and a mostly degenerated one a bit higher up in my spine, the only other condition I have is one I've overcome, I'm a heart attack survivor (my attack was three years ago this month), and the diet I follow plus the bit of exercise I get every day (mostly long walks with my wife) seems to have both stabilized my BP and lowered my cholesterol, so I'm really hoping there won't be a repeat performance of that experience, it was unpleasant, to say the least.

Like many of you, I have good insurance, but Doctors being Doctors, I'm under-prescribed a couple of the meds I've been on for years and years, and I supplement my prescriptions by using the well-known (and currently very backed up on orders) IOP.  I haven't used any others except for a few now-vanished SY vendors while they were good (they are always good, aren't they, until they suck you in with that one last order and disappear), a generic Viagra supplier in China, and a well-known Modafinil / Adrafinil only supplier in India, so I'm a little concerned with the backlog of orders from my current IOP, and am looking for alternatives to them until they get their issues sorted out.

I'm not sure I have much to offer regarding help or advice with even my own conditions, I more or less follow my Doctors recommendations and use the meds they prescribe, supplementing a couple of them that I've developed a large tolerance to, one past where the Doctors will increase the dosage any longer, but I'll do my best to contribute information where I can.

I'm off to eat lunch, will be back (likely this evening) to read the forum rules and try to learn my way around.

Respectfully,

b2g
welcome aboard.

u will need fifty posts in On topic areas in order to see our SY vendors and our email vendors.

But, if u need help, post, and I shall share my email with u.

May u find all u need.
Welcome aboard Back 2good! Glad to have your hear! Im sure there are a lot of folks here who can offer helpful info.
Im on the baby asprin a day thing and after doing some reading decided that makes good sense if prescribed In you situation. My Dad is in his 70's and likely wouldn’t have made it past past 60 if it weren’t for 8 stints. Never to late to modify the diet!
Don't ever hesitate to get yourself to the dr if you are having any kind of symptoms even am EKG at the right time can add years to your life , be vigilant my friend and you will have many good years left ahead of you.

Once again always happy to see a new addition to the family! Feel free to pm and say hi after you get them pesky 50 posts in, if I see your thread I wili give you a hand with that, Smile
Thanks for the welcome, Charon and forme.  I see I've already broken one of the forum rules by mentioning countries of origin in my introduction post - That will teach me to read the rules first before posting anything!

forme, I do the 81mg aspirin per day thing as well, my Cardiac specialist recommended it after I was released from the hospital, and while I obviously don't notice a difference in how I feel if I miss a few days (on vacation, or whatever), I'm pretty strict with following all of the dietary, exercise, and medication related instructions I'm given by that particular Doctor (my family practitioner not so much...I figure at my age I know my body better than he does, and I don't need to be told to drink plenty of water and get enough sleep when I catch a flu Smile ).  Believe me, anyone who's had a major heart attack will do anything they can to avoid another one!

I was on blood thinners and prednisone for about 8 months after being released from the hospital, and I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I was to be taken off of those once I was stabilized, I've never been so miserable in my life - Sleepy all day, bloated and puffy, and barely able to make it through a day of work.  The aspirin is really the only med I take anymore now that my heart has recovered to the extent it is expected to...It will never be 100% again, but we've gotten it back to 80% or so, and I'm grateful for that.  My other conditions are fairly common, and my Psychiatrist is a great Doc - He's just one of those that doesn't understand (or want to admit) that when you've been on the same anti-anxiety med for 11 years at the same dosage, you've probably built up a tolerance and need the dosage bumped up a bit.  I don't hold it against him...Some of them won't prescribe those types of meds at all, and tend to only prescribe SSRIs, which my wife tolerates perfectly and couldn't live without, but turn me into an emotionless zombie.

Thanks again for the welcome, and I'll keep the rules handy while posting for a few weeks until I have them memorized.
