For me i would have to go with Final Fantasy 7 (spent Years on this game) Still waiting for a legit remake, Zelda: A link To the Past Probably the first game i ever played, Ninja Turtles ( Lost more than a few layers or thumb skin trying to beat  it) and Zelda Ocarana of Time. Absolutely a few im forgetting but these ones Definitely shaped me as a childÂ

Anybody have some good ones to add?

Tie for favorite
coleco vision. it was a car game. it came with a steering wheel. gas peddle. shift.
I got it in 1984. When I was me father's caregiver. I took half hour off per day and drove that wee car.
I shall always love that game.
My son and I played pokemon, mario brothers, Zelda. The same ocarina of time u played! Awesome memories. (And, zombies ate my neighbors way before zombie apocalypse came into vocabulary.)
Ahhh all great ones !I played the car game maybe twice and it was awesooomme. I vaguely remember zombies ate my neighbors but i remember liking it. Did you ever play paper boy?? The Pokemon games were awesome on gameboy

Starcraft was another good one
Would have taken a mini bike any day! Pong was a little before my time but I've played it . Sega was still cool when I was a kid tho! I played sonic for days I don't think I ever beat it tho. No sleep solo video game parties will always be awesome !
Skateboarding was my outdoor bone breaking activity

Asteroid and Leapfrog , they were my first Atari games i ever had...
brings back a rush of very innocent and no worry memories...

Mainly computer, but had Sega for Zelda, Mario. Earliest favorite for me was a pre-sega computer, 2D called "Rygar" absolutely amazing what they managed in 2D toward its end.Â

Harley, have no worries about dating yourself - While "Pong" was available as a game for the Apple IIc by the time I graduated high school, there was no PC in our home for me to play it on. Arcades had not yet become ubiquitous in the malls, so the only games available to me were at the local Mr. Gatti's Pizza...And those were Pac-Man and Space Invaders.
I did have a friend a few streets over during my sophomore and junior years who had an Apple IIC with "Zork" (the old text based RPG) installed on it, and I have many fond memories of being eaten by the "grue". "Kabul Spy" was another such game, I'll never forget typing a suggestion into the command line, and the game responding "You may want to try that with the cassette port in back".
Hey, I was 15 years old at the time. I had to try typing that, it was my duty as a teenager.
Good times, those days of dual 5.25 floppy disk drives (dual because the Apple OS needed that much storage to boot) and 128KB RAM.
No judgement here, just trying to bring some happy memories of good times to mind. I spent like half of my childhood playing video games so when i think of them it brings up good times
I liked
DOOM...
and
Assassin's Creed (all of them)
and of coarse...
Tribes - Ultra Renegade Mod
I just loved Tribes...

Note:
I head down to my ISP (friend of mine) and hook into his T1 ... Gave me a "ping rate" of like 0-2... Man was that ever fast!
Oh yeah... BTW... I'm still in "my childhood"
