Hello :
Anyone use it ? I use Ambien, but my insomnia is cause it by general anxiety, after I take the ambien I can sleep but only for 3-4 hours, then I need to take another one to could get back to sleep. Also, next day I feel tired . I used xanax in the past, great sleep but started to affect my memory. I am planing on a very low dosage only one time at bed time. Any recommendation ?
thanks

If you currently take any benzos I doubt you will feel much. Benzos must work as a sleep aid as I was given lorazepam when I was in the hospital, and my nephew who is a RN at a heart hospital says they use xanax as a sleep aid. For my occasional insomnia I take Sominex ( Diphenhydramine I believe is the drug) 50 mg under the tongue and I am OUT, but it tastes terrible. Hope you find something that works for you! Best Wishes
Thanks a lot for your answer fishfarmer. I also used to take Benadryl ( Diphenhydramine ) . Love the sensation but, with time, stop to work ( on me ) . I just get the syrup and tasted great :

Also, it hit pretty soon too, may be you can try the syrup version, I think is otc for allergies .
The problem is that the benzos used to treat daytime anxiety and panic, work to help sleep a few nights at best because while it takes a very long time to built tolerance to the anxiolitic effects of the drug, you build tolerance to the hypnotic effect of the drug asap.
Trazadone will give you a good 8 hrs. I alternate between that and Ambien. The short half-life of Ambien is a problem for many, even with the ER version.
Ambien is the only product that really helps me get to sleep. Everything else mentioned on here has made me drowsy, but still awake. My routine is taking 10mg liquid melatonin and half an 10mg ambien. Then when I wake up in 3/4 hours, I take the other half. It's not an ideal situation, but it leaves me feeling rested.
I use Ati van when I can't sleep. I generally use 1mg under the tongue and I'm usually asleep within a half hour if not faster.

Thanks for your answer. How many hours of sleep per night you make with that combo ?
Do you feel refresh next morning ?
I take a combination of .5 clonazepam with .5 lorazapam and it severely reduces my anxiety through the day and in fact gives me energy while active or working. Personally I do not get benefits as a sleep aid. I use medical marijuana to help me get to sleep at night. The only time I get sleepy with benzos is if I am having a lazy day. I will take my same dose on my lazy days and I will typically have a short nap. But at night time I get little to no sleep aid. Weird how medication works.
Hi there! I was prescribed Quetiapine a while back. It was originally prescribed for BPD. Although it is classed as an anti-psychotic, when taken in low doses its a great sleep aid, with absolutely no groggy-ness or side effects in the morning, in fact some days you wake up quite energetic as you get a proper nights sleep.
I no longer take it for my BPD(I was being precribed 100mg 4 times a day but I just felt so tired all day long and slept way too much that I stopped taking it during the day). I still take Quetiapine at night to aid sleep, but I only take one 25mg pill (2 if I feel I really need it).
Also, I'm sure your Dr wouldn't have any issues with prescribing it as it is not a benzo or adictive.
Hope that's helpful!
Izzy
Serial killers kick my ass and make me want to eat everything in the fridge the next day. I stick to some
Melatonin exercise and meditation and I eventually go to sleep. Not much sleeep. It not groggy next day.
