Politics aside, abuse is no joke. That said, that really doesn't seem to be the vibe of this particular thread. It's really disheartening that people in pain aren't able to get what they need to make life less miserable, especially when dealing with prolonged pain. Adding to that aggravation is the fact that not being on the East coast we hear constantly about the PK issue there and yet accessibility remains such an issue elsewhere.

People will do what they have to in order to find even an inkling of relief... They wil never be able to make everything illegal, but they try... However, no matter how hard they try, they will not be able to legislate the human mind...
They's come off better with managing addiction than trying to stop folks from their own selves... Cannot be done... Just because sometime IS legal, doesn't mean everybody is gonna do it... Prohibition was a great success! And how many college kids chug toxic amounts of whatever concoctions they willingly allow their peers pour into them? Even upside down? Not that's extremely relevant, but still.
My guess is revocation of licenses and threats of malpractice don't yet apply to skydiving. Ergo, physicians on the alert.
And yet, the Docs can't write methadone and suboxone scripts fast enough. Big pharmas PR campaign is to continue to line their pockets by switching addiction from PKs to suboxone. Dependence is dependence. Sheeps clothing?
And....that's my rant for the day

Here's an example of PK phobia...
My brother was just in the hospital for possible brain cancer.. it turns out to be a brain abscess infection and he had surgery. Do you know what they had waiting for him when he woke up after surgery? Two extra strength Tylenol's and one 2mg Dilaudid pill....
Well, that didn't really do the trick and he needed a pain pump fairly soon afterward... How's that for PK restrictions...
Had a similar experience earlier this year Shaun. My husband has lung cancer. He had part of a lung removed. In ICU, they gave him vics 5. Seriously! He had scalpels through his tissue, nerves, lung, tubes 1 1/2 in diameter protruding from his body. And they're asking him to rate his pain from a chart with emojis? God help us all!
^I have to agree, i hope all goes well, i am also shocked at the treatment!
All the best xoxoxox
Junia have no doubt that big pharma companies will continue to earn billions from painkillers. They can fund and so elect senators and they influence the office of national drug control policy. When they decide they promote the drug of their choice swifting it with an older one . They substitude one addiction with the other. Suboxone it their next promotion. In a world where you might take just aspirin after surgery sooner or later you will seek something out of the system to manage your pain. And they call it illegal. My boss in pharmacology said that when you create and get a legal licence for a drug like fent almost 100 times more potent than morphin then you promote mass murder. He is probably more right than wrong. Companies again made huge profits from Fent and they filled graveyards with the bodies of unlucky victims. For those on the other side of the atlantic we may all shed tears for our system that gets very similar here in Europe with the US . Austerity and ban of pain meds do sweep EU as well. This will lead to more expensive medicines in the future and more people going on the black street market to search for their meds because most of the will have no social security. Once more this will mean more cash flow in the international bank market. Money laundering means cash flow , the driving force of an economy in crisis. Free IOP's are a global form of resistance to this trends finding less expensive medicines in generic forms and having the freedom of choice which is is what we fight for and the reason why we are all here. Pharma companies realize they might loose thei power and profits so they have mounted a full-on offensive against iop's and on line ventors with the help of Mr Law. But the die is cast. IOP's and forums like ours will continue to grow and more and more patients will escape from the system seeking for freedom. The future is ours and there are no limits since the net will give the capacity to build faster and better an iop and order and ship even to the most remote places. It is our duty first of all to protect our forum and then separate good iop's from bad iop's so that we will be safe and healthy to live with less restrictions and control. After all we witness the end of insurance or social security and we have to take the upper hand before it is too late.
what are PK,S
QUALUIDS can they be bought
PK is pain killer. qualudes, real ones, are no longer available. some claim in some foreign country they are. but, with all the problems from meds being laced, i would not chance it. Good luck.
You guys are correct about BIG pharma and suboxone. Has anybody noticed that the highest dosage tablet available in other countries? Either 2mg or the .2mg dosage (yes 1/5th mg per tab). When I lost my pain doc due to subs, I was given 3-8mg per day to take!! So 24mg a day. After a month or so I cut it down to 2 doses per day, then 1 dose per day. I felt exactly the same from taking just 1strip per day vs. 3 per day. Now 1 8mg strip will last 6-7 days and I feel exactly the same as I did (actually better) than I did when taking 24mg per day.
My conclusion about Big Pharma is their strategy is to get people hooked for life on them & that will be their new PK. The dosage they are training Doc's to start new patients on is way too high. The thing I like about subs is that the less you (I) take the more potent it works. I know a few people who have been on them for a few years, like myself, and none of us take a full 8mg strip per day. The great advantage is that your body does not develop a tolerance to them like Pk's do. The biggest drawback is the fact that once you start taking them it is damn near impossible to stop taking. My once a day dosage is about 1.2mg per day (1/6th of a strip) and if I forget to take it in the morning I start to get a slight headache, lack of energy and just overall start to feel "sick". If I am out of them for a day or 3, I get the normal pk withdrawl symptoms and am stuck in bed. I feel much better on the subs vs pk's but they have the exact same withdrawl effect(s).
Once again BigPharm wins again.

Big Pharma always wins. And I agree that they want us dependent on drugs so they will have a customer for life.
The thing that gets me is, they take you off of one addictive drug and put you on another one. Probably because the one they change you to is more expensive. I just wish they would leave it alone and let you stay on the med that really helps, but once it goes generic, it's time to break out a new one that they can get more money from. It's all about the money.
It's evil what they do with no care for the patients at all, but Big Pharma has all the power and always gets their way. It's unbelievable the sneaky, slimy way they work. They own us and know it.

i know NY does not want a customer for life, unless they decide the length of time for said life.
when i first got disability, partially for chronic pain, and i contacted disability, I was informed, oh yes dear, they will bring methadone right to my home. Did not want it. Tad bit strong among other things.
They had the one catch. If i did not die within three months, i had to go cold turkey.
Customer for life, eh wot? As long as one does not live longer than the state wants.
Check the TV commercials. All roads lead to humira. an RA medicine that put a woman i knew thru hell. its a deadly drug and they promote it for acne, chrons disease, anything they think they can get away with.
Oh, wait, they are getting away with it.
What the hell, I know they are promoting humira for RA and UC but for acne ? To speak medical it is a potential deadly drug. It can kill healthy individuals from TB or other infections and it is even carcinogenic causing many cases of deadly lymphomas , that drug makes PK's look like aspirin, but it is free to cause severe adverse reactions, and they get away with it as they always do.
