What are the rules regarding putting links in posts? For example if I were posting info regarding a med or answer to someone's question and wanted to post a link to a study or other helpful info, is this allowed? I've read every rule I can find and haven't found an answer.
Just wanna make sure I'm staying within bounds. I'm not referring to links about vendors or other such things. Thanks for any help,
Den
Generally it is okay, however use the post a link icon.
And it should be no questionable ones that go to , well you know.
Denman66,
Here is a partial list of rules;
Notice rule #2.
So as Linville said it may be okay however it shall not be spam, if it is linked to a legit story or news item then it is usually okay, although again it shall not be any type of spam
SPAM
1 irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients.
• unwanted or intrusive advertising on the Internet: [as modifier] : an autogenerated spam website.
-send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.
Board Rules
Following are our Board Rules which are mandatory for each member of the forum to follow:
1. Its compulsory for each newly registered member to introduce himself/herself in the Introductions or Welcome area section.
2. Please do not make repeat copy posts or Spam the forum with any links as both of these are not allowed.
Yeah that answers my question perfectly, thanks. I have no need to spam the forum with anything, and no vendors to shill for so we're all good

Or if you dont want g00glys search bots finding a link replace http with hxxp, safety first in this day and age!
Most excellent advise TG ... Whenever you use a "clickable" link , it uses the site you came from as a "referer" ,,, By using the old "copy/paste" method using another page, there is no referer page...
Better safe than sorry on some sites....
