Wow, very sorry to hear that your doctor cut you off like that, not even having the grace to allow for a tapering process. It seems that this is a recurring problem for many here. This community definitely has an aura of kindness, it has helped me so far, and you even more.
So happy to hear your experience turned out positively, OB, in great part due to this community. That's encouraging for you as well as the rest of us. That when you reach out, you get support. Again, very happy for you!

Thank you my friend - You're in a great part responsible for the positive outcome yourself.
This is amazing to watch the people in this community band together and take care of one another.

I came here about three weeks ago desperate and panicked after a seizure resulting from my Doctor cutting me "cold turkey" off of 3mg alp per day...No insurance, very little income (tough to find work when your GAD and panic attacks are constant and you have the worry of another seizure to come), almost certain I was weeks from losing everything.
Due to the kindness of several members of the community (you know who you are), I had people to talk to when I was at my lowest. Due to the quality vendors here, I've managed to stockpile enough diaz (yes, diaz...I'll never touch a fast acting, fast clearing benz@ like alp again) to last me a year.
I calmed down to "normal" subsequently, and just yesterday landed a new job. Things are going to be OK.
Without you all, though, I may very well have become homeless and un-medicated - Perhaps dead from an even more severe seizure.
Thank you all so much. And keep doing exactly what you're doing...If you saved my life, think of the countless others you are improving / saving.
Thank you. Thank you. I can't say it enough times.
thats excellent to hear OldBoy I'm pretty sure i remember your first post i'm so glad you're on your feet and starting a new job. Long lasting b3nz0 are by far the best option a slow gentle drop back down And youre taking the best for tapering off if you ever wanted to i'm sure you've heard of Professor Heather Aston neuroscientist she has been studying the effects and withdrawal of patients since the 70's with great success anyone want a safe method to withdraw just use a popular search engine to find her site with free manual. sorry to go off at a tangent there i just believe a lot in harm reduction to cut you off from 3mg @lp he should have been struck off thats so irresponsible i cant even put it in to words whatever happened to duty of care? anyway so glad youre back on track.

Thanks blandy!
Professor Ashton's Benzodiazepine equivalency table and her manual for withdrawing from benzos are critical reading for anyone who wants to cut back or quit, they can't be mentioned enough, thank you.
As for me, I'm amazed. I mean, I wasn't in my prime when I had the seizure (I'm a bit long in the tooth), but the difference between then and now is like night and day...I can FUNCTION. I can work. I can visit with my kids and grandkids without scaring them. And one day, far down the road, I'll get my finances straightened out. You, among many others, have been tremendously helpful...If there's going to be a thing called "group therapy", this should be it (minus the trolls and shills, of course).
Take care of yourself - And anyone else you can! God notices, trust me.
