I am so very happy to have found you all..
Hello!!
I have to leave for work in ten minutes so just a quick intro here and will be back later tonight to read, read, read
and then gather the confidence to begin posting.
I'm a middle aged hospitality industry person.. working nights and weekends so opposite life from most.
I tend to be very private in my social life and view my social profession as a medicine for my shyness.
Over the years I've treated my illness with alcohol when doctors didn't have answers for why I couldn't sleep at
night because of everything from shoulder pain to feet pain and loss of energy, etc..
I just wanted to be able to sleep through the night but because I have two children I need to find a better way.
I've been off the alcohol for a few weeks now because I feel like I'm not being the parent I should be....hangovers, personality change and such.
This forum means a great deal to me. I am seeking ideas, info and friendship and hopefully will find a path to a more productive and pain free
life.
I hope that I can be of help to others at some point in the future.
For now I will be studying the rules, getting to know the ropes and committing myself fully to opening up my admittedly shy self.
Thank you for allowing me into your community. It is my first time joining anything of this sort and I am very happy about this.
Have a great day everybody!
Welcome Iloveaparade.

Haha ha that is funny name but names come just like people in all forms etc.

Anyway enjoy your stay.

Very nice introduction.  Smile
well aboard. may u find all u need herein.

the rules, which we do enforce: http://ioplist.org/showthread.php?tid=1

Many a woman self medicated with alcohol. And, just for me, I never drank as I saw how mean it made my mother. I got her to give up alcohol but it took cancer for her to agree.

I am glad you are aware of this now. We are here for you. Have a glorious day and keep up the good fight.
Hello and welcome to the forum. I am glad you are here - hope you find the help you need. Nice introduction and I like your username...Smile
Thank you for the kind words! much appreciated
I don't know how the username came to me..haha....but there it is : )
And in the immortal words of Austin Powers, "that ain't no woman! it's a man, man!" lol
Diving in to the rules and checking out the different sections and posts now.
Welcome Iloveaparade..

Welcome to the best IOP forum on the web in my opinion since it is so much more. You will begin to feel like family and no one here will judge you and you can be as open as you want within th rules. You will also get better advice here from those you learn to trust than most doctors.

The Moderators here work long and hard to keep the troublemakers out and drama to a minimum.

You got a lot of great people here with a lot of knowledge and wisdom.

Sounds like you are already planning on reading a lot so I won't go there but do learn the rules. This forum stays the best because
of those rules and it's also easy to break em without knowing you ever did.  It may seem a bit "strict" but they are the reason this forum stays the best.

Make a few posts out there under topics you are interested or start a
thread and let everyone get to know you a bit. You kind of have to build up your reputation or street creds as they call it in the city. Once people get to know you
more and more by your posts the doors will start to open for you.

Welcome again and hope you find what you need

Peace to all and a evening.

Fury
That was awesome Furyan66, Linville, Charon, willie33!!!
I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your responses.
It is both surprising and means a lot to me!!
I just watched a science/animal video on the axolotl on another thread....so there's definitely something here for everybody if you look around a bit. haha
I'ts hard to describe but I had a great day today and I think a part of the reason is that I feel good about finding this site and joining last night.
It would be great if at some point down the road I could bump into somebody that lives in my "neck of the woods" to hang out with once in a while in real life.
I also love to play battlefield one online on xbox too so if anybody wants to squad up please let me know.
Have a great night and thanks all!
well, I feel like I need to add something to this post. I have been on the site for three days. I have been reading a lot of posts in all the different sections. I have never been part of a forum before and I am having trouble.I am learning a lot and the lingo seems to be doable... I know that I have to pass the "new guy test". But I have been on my own trying to finds the meds I need to relieve my pain. Back in the day i stumbled upon the airm@il group and that was good for a little bit. I was able to find items to curb my panic attacks that have been minimized with diet and excercise. Those days are gone and I honestly didn;t have a need to look for IOP's for a while. Then the pain started, First in the joints of of my thumbs, then my knees, shoulders and feet. I found the need to go back in search of an IOP and ended up finding Jim at SL. Now I'm reading here that he is evil and there are much better places. I don't know what to offer. I have limited knowledge and I'm in pain everyday. I came here looking for help finding the most cost effective, reliable IOP because my source was hit or miss on the quality of their cod3ine. Now I know why... I humbly ask you...How do I post five times per day without sounding artificial and shallow with such limited experience? I want to do my part and I want to fit in. Im just having trouble. I received my first warning and i'm afraid of losing access to the best thing that I have found in years of searching for answers from people that I can trust and have the similar experiences as I do. Can somebody give me some pointers to help me get going? I would really appreciate any and all responses. Thank you
Hello Iloveaparade.
First don't worry, if you slow down on ur posts so that not more than 5 a day then you will be ok.

The warnings will expire at some point, did not look how long this one was, but I could later.

So my advice is find some threads that are talking about something of interest to you and post on it.
Or make a comment on another, using the ole head to this of something fitting in.

You can do it.
We will be able to see if you try and if you are trying in a good way it will work out for you.
Don't worry.

You can post on a great variety of things that you do know about.
I know you can so just find the place to do it.

Oh and no more than 5 posts a day is in the rules for everyone.
It will work out ok , if you do these things.

Thank you Mad Max.
The thing that was really stressing me out was posting five times per day. I felt rushed and insincere/forced to just make posts to meet the quota. This is a lot to learn and take in and I've been reading, its a lot to wrap my head around. Thank you for the words of encouragement. I feel that I can contribute once I gain my footing.
