Please read the update, in the rules.
Forget the rule: PMs are your own business. It has come to my attention that some of you are trying to insist that senior and pioneer members use the PM system to give newbies our prized sources.
We now expect newbies asking for info to which they are not entitled to cease and desist.
And, we expect those whom receive such PMs to turn them in with a Mod Report or discard same.
(A Mod whom did not last here put in that stupid former rule. She is history and so is the nonsense that U may do anything in PM. Senior and Pioneer members will not answer you.)
I like it charon, good rule change!!! Thanks for being as great as you are!!!
Morning laizer. Hope u r well. Yes, sir, the newbies cannot recall the rule to post but five a day to start. Nor can they remember no country of origin, no payment methods.
But they sure picked up on PMs are ur own business.
And, they do come up with unreal stories to win the information from us.
Good thing i never drank. Have a glorious day, all.
Unbelievable Charon. I'll be on the lookout. Thank you!
Morning. Thank you, Roses!
all the best again, and totally agree with the rule update, I'd never share any info via pm ever, unless Charon gives the ok, my lips are always sealed

she is the glue that holds us together!!!
I will keep on the watch and lurk for newbies seeking prized privileged sources. Wish more could be done to screen the validity of certain members besides reaching a post limit. Seems a bit of a weak breach. But thats just my 2 cents. Sigh

I very much doubt that simply getting to 150 posts
automatically grants a member a 'no questions asked' pass into the most special of all special areas.
I've always assumed that the "Post your 150th post here" thread is something of a "Please Consider" invitation, allowing the Mods and Admins to take a closer look at a member, and perhaps click on their Reputation points - and browse who gave them for what reason, if they've been the recipient of any warnings, perhaps to click on one or two of the member's posts....that kind of thing.
Then you get granted the access.
In my mind, that's the way it works.
I am comforted by the fact that I don't ever remember seeing a new member who simply posts 5 x "Yeah, me too" or "I know what you mean" posts per day for a month in a frantic bid to get to 150. It would stick out like a sore thumb in the 'View Today's Posts' filter.
I'm a Newbie, though. Just because I haven't seen it, doesn't meant it's never happened...

Actually the staff and i discuss every new member whom wants to join. Many a post and poster.
We check IPs. And i do have a photographic memory for emails, screen names, avatars.
People are being vetted by some of us from the first moment they appear.
If we ban, it is often before they reach 150 posts.
Its too dangerous to have big mouths or ne'er do wells see our vendor info.
trust me, new people keep us on our toes.
We don't believe in reading ur PMs unless another turns them in to us. So, its a process of reading, researching.
We are as safe as we can be.
Thanks Charon. Sometimes I've read a post where you've said something about a ne'er-do-well like "They were warned more than once about this and I PM'd them as well." Just seeing that informs me that there's plenty going on behind the scenes that members are not privy to.
Nor should they be.
It's
much more glorious for us to simply lay back and bask in the environment that you create in here.
From our end, IOPList is a bit like visiting a holiday resort - you come back to your room to find the bed has been made and the room is tidy.
Thank Heavens for the Magic Cleaning Fairies, that's what I say.
And those noisy neighbors who arrived last night? Seems they moved out this morning...
I wonder if there'll ever be a thread called "Admin & Mods best Can-you-believe-it ? stories" ....
I bet that you, Steel, Ice and the Elders have heard some beauties!
(But between you all those stories will remain.)
