Hi friends, been a week or two since I’ve had the time/nerve to get online. I last posted a thread regarding anxiety and received a number of questions, for which I have responses, however, I am prioritizing posting this first as it may have a more immediate effect on the community.

As of last week, it’s come to my attention that a historically, VERY reliable & professional IOP/organization that i have used frequently for well over a year now has come under direct scrutiny of US LE efforts.

For the first time EVER in my life I received a package that had been very obviously cut open, inspected, and re-sealed with offical tape. I am not sure what if anything has been tampered with, but my blood literally ran cold the moment I saw it - especially for someone with SEVERE chronic anxieties!!! 

Please, if you have been relying on UK/EU IOPs, I would suggest incredible vigilance as well as some degree of contingency plan for those whose medication(s) are more or less a life/death situation. I had been assured by the IOP that they were doing everything possible on their end when I noticed some minor issues with supply a few weeks ago, but now I see the issue has become much greater.

And again, apologies again for not replying to my own thread yet, I do have suggestions I have just been exceptionally anxious/paranoid myself recently and felt this issue needed to take precedent. I wish ALL of you the best, hopefully this is something that will only affect a few, not a great deal, but absolutely be very cautious!
(When I get to 50 posts I will make a post regarding more specific information for any of those concerned, but I do not feel like it belongs on the public forums.)

Over the years (a lot of years!), I've had a couple like that. Opened and re-sealed by customs. One was the same, but re-sealed with clear tape rather than customs tape. I set the package aside for a few days so if I had a visit I could do a plausible "what this package? I'd been wondering what that was about...". But nothing ever happened. OP, please don't panic - I know easier said than done when you have anxiety so I really do sympathise.

I think in two cases they decided they didn't care... obviously personal quantity of something for health rather than a load of cola or something. I don't know if they were being kind or it just wasn't worth the paperwork for something so trivial. I was more scared by the clear tape, but in hindsight that package was heavy for its size. It is possible it was opened for security reasons, and once satisfied that it wasn't a bomb (or even lithium-ion battery rigged to catch fire), it just went on its way.

We do have to be careful and also remember it is the time of year where is more coordinated international scrutiny. It is a shock when something unusual like that happens, but unless you ordered an unusually large amount of material (like enough to set up your own shop) I doubt you'll hear anything more about this. They had their chance to stop it and didn't.

Also interested in Levi517's question about whether it originated from an IOP (i.e. with website shop) or email only vendor?

Never happened to me yet touch wood.Would like to know if it was an iop or email as well,no need to say who.

This was an established IOP that was considered 100% legit in terms of service up until this point. I notified their customer service & advised that they alter their name/packaging/operation, they seemed skeptical and asked for photos, which I really really didn’t wanna provide (but it’s not the first time that they’ve asked for photo evidence (when packages were damaged) I guess some people just exist to scam them so they’re always on guard. Still awaiting a response, also worth noting that yesterday was a postal holiday.

But for those asking, this was not an email-only operation.

Who knows what the future holds, I’m still kind of wary/very anxious about what the longer term implications may be. If I hear anything positive or negative worth sharing I’ll yet y’all know.

I apologise if I have missed the obvious here but do you mean you received your book, which was investigated be C / LE, but it arrived?

If you received your book, and no pages were missing, I think barq- could be correct, it was just too trivial to bother C / LE enough.

It’s a scary world, there are lots of people out there posting items a lot more harmful than a therapeutic individual dose of reading material.

Although, my question remains, did you get your book with the correct pages?

I spent a great deal of time and attention going over the entire order of magazines, inside and out. Ultimatley, nothing noticeable is missing despite the very obvious, non-stealthy way it was inspected. There is a good chance, however, that a very small (but quantifiable) amount was taken, as several of the individual articles look to be “chipped”

I have still not received an offical reply, however, I have noted that a separate order (from the same origin) was delivered 100% intact today. Still looks to be a sketchy situation, I feel like Barq’s assessment of the situation may prove true here. Will continue to update as things evolve.

Well, I myself have only received reading material via mail a few times, so I am no expert. But I suspect others here are correct -- if your book showed up, probably it just wasn't interesting enough for LE to hold on to it.

If anyone comes by asking to look at your reading material -- and I don't think anyone will -- remember you have rights. Don't let anyone in unless they have the correct paperwork.

This look like something new that is happen now. Wonder what that exactly means. May be they are looking for harder stuff, who knows. But it happen to me first time this year, before that it was seized or not seized, but never an open one with all inside.
