Is PangeaXII now year round?

Operation Pangea XII: FAMHP seizes 5,360 packages, containing almost 500,000 counterfeit or illegal products
date: 22/11/2019
In 2019, operation Pangea took on a new form. This operation focused on information collection, analysis and communication. For this twelfth edition, that took place from June 2018 to June 2019, the FAMHP provided the necessary data. Pangea is coordinated by INTERPOL and is specifically designed to intercept illegal and counterfeit medicinal products and devices.

2019 did not see an international Pangea action week, because of the new strategy that was put in place because over the past years, the action week had become too predictable. Operation Pangea XII aimed at collecting and analysing data over the course of one year to raise awareness and to prepare the upcoming operation Pangea XIII in 2020. In Belgium, operation Pangea XII enabled the inspection of 50,000 packages between June 2018 and June 2019. 5,360 of these were seized, or around 500,000 tablets, tubes, bottles, etc., of illegal or counterfeit products. These seizures led to the establishment of over 140 doping related dossiers for products such as anabolic steroids.

Most seized products were stimulants for erectile dysfunction, steroids, sleeping pills and pain killers.

In Belgium, online medicinal product sales are licensed exclusively to legal websites of pharmacies recognised by the FAMHP. This is intended to protect public health and prevent the sale of illegal or counterfeit medicinal products. Quality, efficacy and safety of medicinal products purchased on illegal websites are never guaranteed.

The most common countries of origin of seized packages were Singapore, India and the United States.

Pangea: over ten years of international collaboration
Operation Pangea is an international collaboration carried out simultaneously by 293 authorities in over 120 countries since 2008. The purpose of this operation is to combat the illegal sale and counterfeiting of medicinal products and the counterfeiting of medical instruments. In doing so, the operation aims to control the organised crime associated with this trade. Every year, operation Pangea enables achievements such as closing down websites that sell these products, disrupting the electronic payment flows related to this trade and intercepting products sent by courier companies and postal services at border crossings.

The operation is also intended to raise awareness of dangers associated with purchasing medicinal products online. Find out more at www.medicaments-par-internet.be(link is external)

My my my can’t Uncle Sam just let us all who suffer from anxiety pain adhd make our own decisions about our body’s. I’m 43 I know what works for me and I know my body enough to know when somethings wrong not right. I’ve been pretty good at figuring out what a doc says it is before I even see them. Only things that I like are to see blood test results. Found out I have very very low t. Which I told doc I’m sure I did by the feeling the last couple years. Test shows 3.1 direct free test. What a 75 year old man would have. Anyways on topic no doc has done anything about it yet. So I guess I have to. Same thing for pain meds and anxiety and so on. I’m sick of being told what I know works for me isnt ok to prescribe anymore
Thanks Charon. I wondered why the usual Interpol press release was taking so long. Funny about Belgium...shows up a lot on Google. I wouldn't have thought it was a "medical centre". All those EU politicians I guess.
I wouldn’t be surprised at this.

It just doesn’t seem practical for big brother to be playing ‘gotcha’ year after year using the same tactics and chipping away at pieces little by little. While we’ve certainly lost some very reliable vendors to these ops in the past, it only makes sense that as AED becomes more widespread and implemented by more and more organizations, the amount of information collected and ease of tracking the patterns will make their ‘jobs’ not only easier, but more effective to the detriment of all of us.

Jeez. It still remember as if it were yesterday when NROPs were everywhere. Quality was amazing and the hardest decision to make was generic vs brand or ground vs overnight.

For some reason one of my biggest peeves about the ever-increasing grip on ‘online ordering’ is this ‘drawing awareness to the dangers of ordering online.’ Really??? Give me a f’ing break. As if they give 2 shits about citizens ordering ‘something’ that could possibly not meet the standards of the almighty FDA.
I noticed the emphasis on fake ED drugs etc. for a couple of years. Couldn’t the 120 countries better use these massive resources to slow the flow of large shipments of heroin or other life-threatening drugs, rather than intercept small quantities of benzos etc. going to individuals?

LOL.  And that too!  As if this whole thing is meant to help grandfathers worldwide realize the potential dangers of ordering viagra from Canada or other countries not ‘up to snuff’.

mmhmm.  Yeah, right.
Seeing this old thread reminded me that I hadn’t checked on Pangea xiii (2020). In fact there was an official Pangea “week “ back in March. Lots of emphasis on fake Covid meds along with the usual stuff. Sorry if I’m duplicating something already reported here.
Not to worry Levi. Just stay safe.
I hadn't seen this thread before.  Thanks for posting, Charon.  I ALWAYS learn when I come here.  @Levi517 & thepianist...I completely agree and have thought the same thing many times.  Why bother with the lesser stuff rather than focus on truly harmful substances such as heroin, cocaine, and others?   Huh
Charon’s original post noted that there hadn’t been an official Pangea week in 2019. Since the early fall was the time for the “action week” in previous years, I googled and found the Interpol press release for 2020. I guess the early date for 2020 makes sense given all the quack cures for Covid promoted during the first surge of the pandemic.
