After announcing last week that
marijuana was “probably not†as dangerous as heroin[/b], the DEA went and huddled up with the team, had a long and arduous meeting with lots of snacks, and returned to the public with a bold stance on marijuana’s danger relative to heroin.
Today, DEA head honcho Chuck Rosenberg bravely declared that “heroin is clearly more dangerous than marijuana.â€
“In other news, the sky is blue,†Dan Riffle,
director of federal policies for Marijuana Policy
Project, told the [url=http://www.m.huffpost.com/us/entry/55c25079e4b0f7f0bebb4ef5?] Huffington Post.
DEA spokesman (and apparently chill bro) Rusty Payne expressed confusion over the hullabaloo surrounding last week’s announcement to
U.S. News.
“The obsession with marijuana that you guys have is sometimes – come on!†Payne said. “Of all the things in the world, that’s what
you’re worried about? Come on, dude. Really?â€
Payne
clearly didn’t read this last week, in which I made the point that the “obsession with marijuana†isn’t just because people love
smoking pot, but because it plays a key role in
the mass incarceration of minorities.
Again, as Michelle Alexander wrote in The New Jim Crow, “in some states, black men have been admitted to prison on drug charges at rates twenty to fifty times greater than those of white men.â€
This might be a good reason to worry about
marijuana!
One might -miss- Â Mary Jane a bit when its not around. But I understand Heroin is much different animal.Â
Smoking is really tough to stop

We thought when we elected a pres who said he would not bother prosecuting pot users particularly medical users that this ugly chapter in our history might be drawing to a close. But alas, it was all lies and jest and the fight goes on. Fortunately, the states are legalizing it one by one and the feds will be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century one of these days.
I'm quite sure its bribes from the pharm industry as well as the alcohol and tobacco industries that are keeping it illegal.

Grandote, I know you don't believe anything coming out of a politicians mouth. They are professional liars. Always have been and always will be.
My take on it is that whatever a politician says, believe the opposite.
How ANYONE could ever think that MJ should be in the same category with H doesn't have a clue.
Big pharma wants it to remain illegal. They don't want anyone using anything but their pills.
Just think how fast this country could get out of financial trouble if they would legalize it and tax it like they do with alcohol and tobacco.
I don't use or care for it myself, but people should be able to if they want to. Some (most) of the laws in this country are stupid and made up by ignorant people.
The seizing of assets without even a conviction is a national disgrace. Cops stole more last year than all the burglars put together. Not a joke.

Grandote they now passed a law if someone in the home was arrested elsewhere the police can now come take the home as asset to the arrested charged individual meaning a roommate, son or spouse is arrested caught with a felonious chargeable amount of marijuana the judge may order the police to take that arrestees' home even if that person was not arrested in THAT home.
Your right its not a joke because not only that the IRS somehow figures taxes on the evidence. I "Heard" a story of a person growing for compassionate care the DEA came took the plants weighed the dirt and all to increase the approximate street value. On another story, I "Heard" a friend of a friend growing for compassionate care had plants (excellent strain from what I heard) that the DEA drove up pulled every plant while this guy was home wrapped each plant then left didn't even arrest the guy? Now, I ask why would they do that? Once you are profiled they can take anything they want because you will have to fight it all in court which isn't cheap!
If they stop someone on the road and find he has a lot of cash in the car, maybe to buy a new car, dp on a home or whateve, they take it. Supposedly they take it to investigate in case it was stolen or something. No matter if the person has receipts for it, tax returns, etc, they do not give it back. If they have the slightest evidence its connected to anything illegal, they keep it all. If they have nothing they offer to split it with the owner. He can hire a lawyer, go to court and take his chances or take what they offer. Rich people have their mouthpiece on the job instantly and get all the money back but poor people some of whom are used to dealing in cash because they don't trust banks get the shaft.
Lots of immigrants only use cash because they cant get a bank account. Lots of native americans don't have an account either. They are the ones the cops and the govt target. Just like the sheriff of notingham, the only difference is we have no robin hood to right the wrongs.
When trump is sworn in he will put a stop to it.
I am honestly amazed with the tiny amount of progress that has been made so far. I never thought I would see it in my lifetime.
The media which used to be the watch dog is now in bed with the giant corporations and govt in all its corrupt ways. The unfortunate thing is many people just accept what they get in the news and think its still honest reporting when it hasn't been for a long time. Even despite this new iron curtain over the truth, thanks to the internet people are getting mad and demanding change. You won't see a thing about that in the news, maybe a rebuttal painting them as dumb or something.
Cops and govt are the biggest thieves around. Wait till you get a "haircut" on your bank account, its coming. That is one reason the govt hates bitcoin so much. It not only dodges taxes, makes it hard for govt to surveill us, it also is impossible to give a haircut to your bitcoin wallet. Rather than tighten the belt and make do with what they have, govt simply steals more.
