Health Equity Reform Amendment Application



On September 2, 2022, the State of New York submitted a section 1115 demonstration
amendment that seeks $13.52 billion over five years to implement changes to address
health equity. The amendment seeks to achieve the integration of social, physical health,
and behavioral health into the fabric of the New York State Medicaid program.

The amendment is structured around a central goal to reduce health disparities,
advance health equity, and support the delivery of social care. The federal comment
period will be open from September 19, 2022 through October 19, 2022.
