What is ‘Gas Station Heroin’?
Information About Dietary Supplement Sold as
Tianna Red or ZaZa Red

What is ‘Gas Station Heroin”? An over-the-counter drug, sold at gas stations across the country
called Tianeptine, which has been dubbed “gas station heroin.” Those who are aware of how
dangerous the drug is are asking for its universal ban by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Tianeptine (aka Gas Station Heroin) is marketed to the public as a dietary supplement. Overseas,
it’s been used for treating depression. Many can find it at their local gas station or even grocery
store commonly sold as Tianna Red or ZaZa Red. Dr. Marc Siegel, Fox News medical contributor stated,“
”People are overdosing,”. “There’s plenty of calls to poison centers. Doctors can do nothing about it.”
He also noted that the drug “works like an opioid.” Dr. Siegel warns of the dangers associated with the
drug and is asking the FDA step up to ensure our country is safe.

So far the drug is only banned in 6 states.

The CDC (Center for Disease Control) took a report on Tianeptine in 2018 noting poison control centers
saw an increase in calls related to the drug between 2000 – 2017. The CDC noted that the data could
suggest a “possible emerging public health risk.” The report also stated, “the associated health effects
included neurologic, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal signs and symptoms, with some effects
mimicking opioid toxicity and withdrawal.”

The FDA made their own statements around Tianeptine saying they have issued warning letters for those
companies that are illegally marketing the drug as a dietary supplement or other forms of unapproved
drugs. Dr. Siegel argues the FDA has not done enough and needs to take further action. It is alarming
that a drug like this is being sold over-the-counter, easily accessible to the public.

I have not seen it but now I will be looking for it,,, for curiosity of-coarse...

Yeah, that doesn't sound too good. And they are claiming to not know how to deal with side effects.

America has so many enemies. I would carefully choose what i take from a vendor i trust. I would not trust something one finds at a gas station sort of place.

Be careful guys.
Always dangerous these rcs are. I wouldn’t trust anything
from the gas station or local head shop. From what I’ve been
told is that this is like a seraquil mdma analog, not cool.
Can seriously mess with your body.
just me, but i suspect one would get just as healthy a "high" from putting their mouth around the gas pump and drinking that. We do not get medicines from a gas station.

Some of you dont know about the horrors. But I have been doing forums so many years that i have seen and heard it all.

Don't do it.
Between Tianeptine and all the Spice type variations of fake weed, gas stations are far more dangerous than any dispensary I've ever been to, and I assume they aren't concerned with the buyers age. Thanks for the heads up Ice Wizard, as depressing as it may be.
Haha! Gas huffing for the win! If I recall, alot of the horrific images of those poor, afflicted Russian krokodil users were actually pics of rotted limbs of junkies poking themselves with tianeptine. Ive heard its WDs are gnarly but that can be said of all opie type substances.
Hmmm Have not seen it but I tend to ignore all the crap gas stations sell at the counter. Makes you think how you can go to a gas station and buy something that can kill you and then on the other hand can't get the needed medication from Drs' that benefit medical conditions that warrant it...
