Did everything online, as I was super busy that particular day and couldn't get out to a walk-up. After over a week of noting happening, calls and emails and a LOT of confusion, funds were finally rejected. The whole thing was incredibly aggravating, so rather than keep trying, I just re-did w/walk-up. It was much simpler, faster, and the transfer fee was less as well! Also, WU Customer Service was possibly one of the most frustrating groups I've ever dealt with!
RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Charon - 05-24-2016 I hear that a good deal, anna. We have a few on here whom do successful WU transfers online. I am avoiding it at all costs. The coward within. I can talk a really good story, but the fear of being banned from WU on my first try online would devastate me. I did walk into a place a few years ago. Was easy. Someday, I shall try online. Good luck all. I think many of us must get braver very soon as it is getting harder to procure the bare necessaries of medicines that we need. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Popster - 05-24-2016 I have had "uncomfortable" dealings in person with WU....... and nothing but easy dealings with the MG machines. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Charon - 05-24-2016 good to know, popster. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - graviedone - 05-24-2016 MY experience is with both WU and MG, I have used my real name and fake names with success (talking walkups here) You could go the fake name routine but make sure you remember to use that same fake info every time and you need cash because your debit card would have your real name. I went to same location before and it had the same person working there and she couldnt find my info because I would just throw out whatever came to mind. She said she knows I am in her system because she remembered me from before. it still happened only Awkward. Using real name and info has the advantage of refunds if you ever have a problem and eventually you will. I had to change a receiver name once with MG but it was real easy just took my receipt back to teller and asked for a name change. Done! No id needed just receipt. I had to get a refund once with WU and I needed my ID, thankfully I used my real name. My experience with doing it over computer?... it has been a pain in the butt only once out of 3 attempts has it been successful. (all WU, maybe MG easier but I dont know) they ask a ton of questions and they check out the name of receiver and see how much this receiver is receiving, flags start going up and they asked how I know this person. You got to remember your not allowed to make purchases. so you use the whole buddy of mine routine. If you are using a place where the receiver name never changes then you are in the best zone and I would try to set up something online and make it more routine. I always feel a little awkward sending money to different people all the time with names that tend to stand out with prejudice and locations all over the world. anyway right now my way is- real name thru MG (also mg is a little cheaper and faster process via walkup) (01-15-2016, 05:16 PM)Lunar Wrote: I searched around and couldn't find this discussed anywhere. Actually I'm not sure we're supposed to discuss this at all, and in that case, mods, please delete and forgive me. Lunar, this is a good topic/subject, I could have used this a couple years ago to learn the ins and outs of MG and WU. as far as tor? I don't see an advantage. have a good one RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Popster - 05-24-2016 As for the "unusual" names and locations of those receiving.....I use the "brother-in-law" technique. MG machines...only offer scam warnings and the ones I use do not pry. Using fake names....will come back to haunt you if you make a mistake......probably will lose your $.....being anonymous has no advantages that I can see....imo. Hello Lunar TOR its one of the safest programmes when it comes to hiding your location ,FBI,police and secret servicies are using it a lot to secure its communication ,so whenever you want hide your actual location its pretty great .Now with western union it doesnt make much sence when you are already giving them up all your personal information when you make a transfer ...Also i wouldnt recomend using TOR for the WU transfer ,they have so many red flags to block your transfer ,withought explaining the reason,so its just extra work for you to be honest and it might rase a flag that may result in even blocking the name of a certain person from using their service .And as was mentioned earlier, police doesnt look for people making payments with western union, they are looking for the sellers,if youa re sending less then 1000 usd every month you have no reason to worry at all.Almost Every single person in USA has a relative in another country,so you have some uncle too) and youa re showing him your love every month with few bucks, its not against the law. I was a little hesitant to do in-person WU as well, but the place I went to has an awesome set-up: two computers that you type in all the info and it just spits out a receipt that you then hand to the cashier. The cashiers at this place are generally people who seem to not give a hoot about anything, and for the most part, they seem to be totally oblivious to customers! It was significantly less "awkward" than I thought it would be. I like the in-law thought. I need to find these machines, never used one. sounds nice and easy. I agree about the fake names so I go real, but Im a little more salty these days. I remember starting out, over thinking every step, trying to be clever. but I didnt have a resource such this to help guide. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - bio2016 - 05-24-2016 I know a lot of people worried about it ...but i have never heard about people being arrested at MG ot Western union location ..,they might block your transfer ,they can block you from using their servicies (you get more chances to get the transfer blocked online then in person by the way ),in the agent location, they might say your transfer wasnt approved ,but thats the worst that you are facing ...but if you are using a Fake ID it is a legal offence,it better to just find somebody who can send your transfer for you from time to time ,that way you give your name a break in a money gramm system and will not be blocked from sending ,i ve been doing it for 10 years now and never had a problem |
