RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - quickfix - 11-16-2018 Im sorry to say but if one has b3nzo tolerance zolpidem will do nothing, it did nothing to me i was laying there for hours trying to fall asleep. and finally took promethazine knocked me out straight away. Zolpidem is good for someone with no b3nzo tolerance as it works on gaba like b3nzos do. Correct me if im wrong guys. this has baffled me too and has anyone had a similar experience. Thanks, please pm me QF RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - tiggmill - 11-17-2018 You are not wrong QF. I can take it for a day or 2, and then I stop because it doesn't work. Promanthazine never has worked before either. The only time it did was after surgery and is mixed with other stuff!
RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - Wannabenormal18 - 12-19-2018 I never saw a medicine in which I built tolerance faster to than zolpidem. It works so well for a few days and then I literally have quickly had 10 zolpidem tabs do nothing. It’s crazy. And when one is desperate for sleep, they can start really upping the doses like I have and sufffer stomach issues from it. RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - luckydate - 12-22-2018 Thanks for this thread all. I did notice that I metabolized this a lot differently 10 years ago than I have in the last couple of years. It was always an as needed situation for me as I do have more than insomnia but also a bad habit of keeping myself awake until wee hours of the night working on projects after my long work day (and no, it's not mania rather I have a lot of ideas I need to get out lol). This being said, one of my ongoing battles is with routines and boundaries so making a plan to say I'll use it for one month to establish a routine for sleep hasn't worked as within 2 days it does nothing. It never even occurred to me that perhaps b3nzo tolerance (even when not on b3nzos) could affect me differently with age. I wonder if the XR does anything differently? I'm actually working on a plan to completely remove b3nzos from my life (again). Was successful for 5 years then life happened and you know...if anyone has any experience with XR having any sort of different impact on those with a reducing tolerance to b3nzos I'd love to know. Thanks friends! RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - Wannabenormal18 - 12-25-2018 (12-22-2018, 11:42 PM)luckydate Wrote: Thanks for this thread all. Are you asking about ambien cr? RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - luckydate - 12-25-2018 ....yes RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - Wannabenormal18 - 12-26-2018 (12-25-2018, 08:58 AM)luckydate Wrote: ....yes It doesn’t knock you out as well as instant release zolpidem. It also didn’t keep me sleeping any longer. As far as helping keep benzo tolerance lower, if you were to never take a benzo and stick to zolpidem you would be much better off. I used zolpidem for years and built tolerance and upped my dose but I never experienced problems till I started to use actual benzos. Now I have already suffered three seizures in my life trying to stop benzos. So yes, if you can use zolpidem instead of benzos, you are better off. I found instant release zolpidem to be better than the cr RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - luckydate - 12-26-2018 Unfortunately I have taken both off and on for a very long time. I suppose I was wondering more along the lines of if the extended release had any different effect but yeah CR just releases over time and duh me for thinking it would have any other impact lol. I am very sorry to hear of your seizures and was in the same boat twice this last late summer/fall. Not a good thing on top of other issues for sure. The more I think about it, being in iop game 18 years, nothing in the last 7 seemed to be remotely effective for sleep. I do think part of it is tolerance and the other is how I'm wired - workaholic nature lol. Thanks for the input Wannabe! Appreciate you. RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - MrFussbudget - 12-26-2018 I think I’m experiencing an addiction to zolpidem. I quit drinking this year, and it’s like I replaced one thing for another. I’m a long time insomniac. I ran out of zolp last week and didn’t sleep all week. I take other things that help a bit more than nothing (melatonin, you name it, etc) but the only thing that really gets me to sleep is zolp. Problem is, now I’m wanting to take half during the day here and there. I think I’m maybe self-medicating in place of the alcohol? Now I just speed through it, and suffer when I run out. RE: Ambien (zolpidem) - MrFussbudget - 01-15-2019 Well I've been out for a long while now, and I haven't had any withdrawal symptoms. Curious still if anyone has any experience with Belbien? |
