RE: How to find an avatar? - NovemberRain - 04-14-2017

Hello! I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if any of the mods/admins or members could help me. I noticed that member avatars differ in size. Some are wider and shorter, and some are taller, and some are what I would say a mix of tall and wide. I know it depends on the picture a person chooses to use, but I've tried changing the size of mine and it still looks "scrunched."

Is this something that just happens and can't be avoided, or is there a way to fix it?

Thank you!  Shy

we shall see if we do an expected update. we r hoping to rid the site of glitches. many people lost their avatar during our last update. but, i know what u mean. i had to click on ur avatar to figure out what it was. it is kinda scrunched.

lots of people take their intended pic and resize it using one of those editing programs. free on cnet. i used to use irfanview. u can also adjust a pic. and, defeat any glitch u may be facing.

Just guessing. but i do see what u mean. I was lucky and mine did not go down. its still a cool avatar though.

Thank you, Charon! Heart

I've changed the size of it, made it wider, taller, you name it, and it always ends up like this! I'll try using a resizer instead of MS Paint, which is what I was using.

it is intriguing though just the way it is. kinda alice in wonderland look to the womans face. i like it.

Thank you, Charon.  Shy  I tried just now again to resize it using a resizer. Didn't change it. I just need it to be taller now. I think I made it too big and so it is being "resized" for me, like it says on the avatar section.

I did it! I mean, I think so? I've been looking at it for so long now, I don't know! HA! But it appears to be taller. I just changed it to 100 X 100 pixels, which it states in the Avatar instructions, is the maximum size allowed.

Thank you!  Heart

I have had good luck searching *avatars* since they are typically made for forums so tend to be the correct size so you shouldn't have to worry about the size. Of course that doesn't apply to every site but the ones that are designed for forums.

I just go to Goggle and search the specific Avatar you are looking for and click "images" and you have an unlimited choice.

Peace

u got a mighty fine looking avatar there now, abigail. well done.

oh, avatarhell.com is available. one used to have to sign up to use the avatars. not so anymore. takes a lot of looking, but has some good ones.

Happy Easter Weekend, all. Esp abigail. Tenacious woman that u be. (i like that about u.)
