Didn't work for me either. When I would wake up in the morning I felt drugged the entire day and tired too. My FP changed it right away. Thank goodness there are still good doctors out there who listen when you tell them a drug doesn't work.

I find that when you take trazadone you have a short window of time to fall asleep.  If you miss that window you screwed. Thats my personal experience and I have heard that from others as well.  But like everyone else said t is very easy to get from doc.

You need to find the exactly right dosage . For example, for me 50mg was not effective, 100 mg was too much ( happen to me what you told ) and 75mg was the right dosage.
Did you tried doxepin ? also, it is a great alternative. just 3mg could do the job, take it 2 hours away from a meal .

My MD gave me 50 mg and it still wiped me out.  No I never dried doxepin.  Is that the generic name?

Thanks James. I think I am going to try it.

Thanks for the additional information. Very helpful.

Omg I don't know if ever take this med again. I was prescribed it in 2006 technically for depression. It did absolutely nothing for it but it knocked me out that's for sure. I literally had to learn to not take it until I was already laying down in bed. If I took it and still had to brush teeth and do other stuff I'd be in danger of passing out standing up.

Also another thing, I was a new mom. I had serious complications with the birth, emergency c-section then brain surgery plus my baby had a rare genetic disorder. I could not get up in the morning while on this. My poor daughter would be crying and I wake up then pass back out. Seriously hard core. Maybe it was the dose but I would strongly recommend taking it on a night when you do not have to get up abs be alert right away the next morning.

It worked for me after about an hour but I felt like crap the next day

I agree with some of the other members: talk to a doctor, get a script, the generic is super cheap. My girlfriend uses this as a sleep aid as it is non-habit-forming; she pays $6 per month at Wal Mart with no insurance for a 30-day supply. Hard to beat that price!

Watch out for headaches with this one. I had to stop using it for sleep, always woke up headachy and groggy. gl
