RE: suggestions on pain pills - Orange rabbit - 05-22-2016 CBD salve is made from marijuana. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are two types of cannabinoids found naturally in the resin of the marijuana plant, Cannabis sativa. Both of these substances interact with the cannabinoid receptors found in the human body, but the types of effects brought about by these compounds couldn’t be more different. For this reason, CBD is more often used as a medical treatment than THC. THC is the main psychoactive component of the marijuana plant. In other words, THC is the primary agent responsible for creating the “high” feeling associated with marijuana use. A friend suggested I try the CBD salve. I had heard that it worked for pain but was hesitant. She brought me some to try. I was shocked how it works. Doesn't make me high, controls some of my pain from RA, however the only issue I have with it, it doesn't last long so I have to rub it on my skin 4-5 times a day which is nearly impossible at work. So my question for anyone who has used it, since medical marijuana isn't yet regulated, is it possible that each jar I get could either be stronger or weaker than the previous. I have no idea how much CBD is in each jar. Reason I ask is because sometimes it doesn't work as well and that is the only reason I can think of. I'm not really an expert on marijuana. Don't even smoke it cause I can't stand smoke. (05-21-2016, 04:07 PM)Maniacomaniac Wrote: I've got degenerative, not rheumatoid. That said, my ortho surgeon put me on diclofenac. It's great. I even have a topical diclofenac gel called Voltaren. I rub it on where it hurts and I'm good to go in 5 minutes. Doesn't last long though. I do prefer the pills. Hi Maniacomaniac, Yes my physician has also given me the diclofenac. And I have voltaren. Agree with you it doesn't last long, that is why I was anxious to try the CBD salve. I must say, I think the CBD salve works much better, but like voltaren, doesn't last long and have to re-apply often. You should try it if you can. There is another big issue with it, it smells horrible until it dries. But after that, no smell. One disclaimer I Must make regarding my above posts on CBD...I live in a state where it is LEGAL to use and buy. I am not advocating that anyone should use it if you live where it is illegal. RE: suggestions on pain pills - bio2016 - 05-24-2016 OK from my friend told me, she pays 50$ a visit ,its a little bit hurtfull for some people, other people dont feel pain ,she was lucky to not feel any pain .They would take you to whats called a typical massage room, you will also be asked to fill up some basic forms of your age,of whats bothering you etc. They dont ask you to take your cloth off, just roll of your pants and your sleeves basicly .After that they will wipe your arms and legs with some stirile liquid and will enter the needles ,they are pretty tiny,no like the ones you get shots with ,lol i myself scared of needles so i asked this particular questions and sayd those were not scary at all,in case you have this fear of needles like i do .They would leave you laying down with the needles for like 20 minutes ,it feels pretty relaxed .I forgot to mentioned that my friend she had those awfull abdomenal pains, after she had a baby ,after the first time she went ,the pain prtially went away ,after 10 or 11 visits she sayd she didnt have any more pain ...i hope this info will help you my friend . Good luck (05-24-2016, 11:55 AM)FirePlaces Wrote: Hi OR and Bio, You may be right, i m not sure FirePlaces, what i ve heard tho if youare consistent with it ,it overally makes you feel better and does give relieve of any pain to some degree,i think it worh trying i even myself considering to do it ,in my case not for the pain ,but to releve tension, let see what happens RE: suggestions on pain pills - Orange rabbit - 05-24-2016 Thanks Bio. RE: suggestions on pain pills - Jmoney12345 - 06-01-2016 Personally, I haven't had any good luck with pain meds through iops.. maybe it's just that where I reside, and the pain meds available in my area are always better from my experience... yet, I think ones tolerance to pain meds also plays a big role... I was in a very bad car wreck years ago, and for a long time was prescribed very strong painkillers... trams were like Tylenol to me.... thankfully, I no longer take any pain meds, have recovered extensively from the shape I was in, going to the gym several days out of the week... it's been a full transformation, but was a tough road to get there... unfortunately for many, chronic pain is an issue, and these meds basically r mandatory for living comfortably.. with this being said, I surely wish iops had more quality pain meds readily available... also, I think a lot of areas tough laws on pain meds have made this difficult for iops, and even local physicians to provide clients with these much needed products... RE: suggestions on pain pills - JK1976 - 06-01-2016 I have a younger family member who has diagnosed with RA after years of being in pm they finally tested her for that and found out thats what it is. I know they had her on methadone and other things. But also now she takes a shot for ra and they test levels in the blood i believe. I will ask her to find out some more info on it for you about what works for her. |
