RE: One reason to Go Overseas for medicine - Bishop - 06-16-2017 Hey Lunar, That sounds like an awesome trip. I've never really thought of health care as supply and demand but it makes sense. If you get a chance post some pics of your trip, I'd love to see some of the countryside. Cheers RE: One reason to Go Overseas for medicine - Lunar - 06-22-2017 (06-16-2017, 06:35 PM)Bishop Wrote: Hey Lunar, The countryside is absolutely beautiful, unfortunately most of the really cool stuff I shot was through a bus window so the quality is not all that great. I will take a look at what I have a share some shortly. They sent him home with some pills, but I can't remember exactly what they were. Nothing serious though. Most meds you can simply buy over the counter and so long as there is a generic available it is dirt cheap. Some meds you still need a script but it is nothing like in the states. Anti biotics, pain meds, benzos, sleeping aids, skin creams, etc... are all available without a script. It was really relaxed in Colombia but I heard from other travelers that comparatively Colombia is more strict than most South American countries. But still not even in the same ballpark, no, universe, as how strict it is in the US Just an update.... We are getting married! I have never felt more sure about anything in my entire life, which is quite the opposite of what I thought it would feel like. I mean, in the movies, there always terrified. But in my case it feels totally natural. Thank you again all for the warm replies. This is a really great community, and all who are lucky enough to find it are blessed. RE: One reason to Go Overseas for medicine - Ivortheenginedriver - 06-22-2017 Congrats Lunar, it is great to hear a story like this. So many stories here in the states are full of anxiety and dread, and I won't even start talking about Duterte and some of the South American horror stories I hear. It really sounds like you found your paradise. Good for you! And congrats on finding someone. -Ivor RE: One reason to Go Overseas for medicine - Charon - 06-22-2017 Congratulations. It sounds like you've truly found paradise ☺️ I wish you the best on your new journey! RE: One reason to Go Overseas for medicine - ComeDayGoDay - 06-23-2017 That's a great story! Well, not all of the pain that went into it...but getting a bill for $8! Love it! Things are so different with insurance or lack thereof where I am. I have an ok coverage, but it's still not great and it's through a major provider and we get it from a major company for work....so....anyway, love the story! Thanks for the morning smile! Enjoy! Not everything is wrote or put into a video completely these days. Thank you for sharing this. Loom foward to hearing more. Life is amazing in many aspects of just going out in the world and exploring to find out what's really out there. Okay so about 25 years ago I was in France for the summer for an educational program and found myself running short of alprazolam. The program had a list of Drs who supposedly spoke English and who would treat Americans. So I go see this guy Dr, so and so and my French was not bad then and I showed him my US script bottle and asked him for a refill. He took my blood pressure asked a few basic questions and asked me if the alprazolam made me depressed with my long term use, I told him it did not, (in French) he seemed skeptical but he wrote a generous prescription that I filled at the local pharmacy, they gave me two boxes with bubble packaging it was first rate. Any one had any experience with medication overseas? |
