RE: Sad Beyond Words - ComeDayGoDay - 05-25-2017 I am so sorry that you are hurting. I can't imagine the heartache you are going through. You are in my thoughts. Love to you and your family. RE: Sad Beyond Words - Slick - 05-26-2017 Dear Roses. I just saw this. ( I managed to get to a sitting position this evening.) Two years ago almost to the exact months, I went through this with my mom (she was 73). I urge you to contact hospice!! For many reasons - including the end of life stage. I am glad you have a sister to go through this with you. You mentioned his eating. I also tried everything, even baby food. Until hospice stepped in. Those people are true angels!! With the cancer that advanced, they told me and I saw it with my mom, the organs are shutting down - it is a preparation for the end. Hospice told me cool water if she wanted it. Hospice had put a hospital bed in that bedroom so they could put fluid IVs in and other things. I was living with her and was giving her meds (pain meds) by myself. Please, for your sake and his, call Hospice asap. PM me if you get a chance. In cases like this, the circle of life is understood. You are in my prayers and will be always. Like I said, it has been two years and I still pray for her. And by all means, CRY when you need to!! You need to take care of you also. Hugs, love and peace to you. Slick

You are a beautiful brave soul to be there for your Dad. Sending hugs and love your way. RE: Sad Beyond Words - Mad Max - 05-27-2017 Hello Roses, I am very sorry to read what you shared about your Dad's health. It is such a very hard thing to go thru. I hope for strength that you may be able to endure it. Ur friend Max RE: Sad Beyond Words - Roses - 05-27-2017 Good Morning orangerabbit, ComeDayGoDay, Slick, Black Socks, pinneapplepen, MadMax & Linville. And thank you so much for your heartfelt words to me. Your support means a lot to me. The nurse came yesterday & we are getting set up with a Hospice nurse next week. We also have a physical therapist coming. We give my dad back rubs but he can really use the physical therapy. He wants me to go to the nursery to get lots of flowers which he wants put into pots on his deck. I will enjoy doing that. I haven't been able to do much in his vegetable garden nor do i have time to work in my flower garden. That's ok though. It is important to spend lots of time with him. I just can't believe it's come to this. Well I hope you all have a good Saturday. RE: Sad Beyond Words - Linville - 05-27-2017 Thank you Roses for the update We all care and want to hear them RE: Sad Beyond Words - Linville - 05-28-2017 Fire that was a wonderful post to Roses. I have also seen those same posts you speak of So it really seems like I too am loosing a friend Well I better stop Hi Roses RE: Sad Beyond Words - barq2 - 05-28-2017 Hi Roses, I'm so sorry to hear what you and your father are going through. I'm not religious either, but you are in my thoughts. You are a loved member of this forum and I know people will want to support you, whether that is giving you a virtual hug, or listening if you need to vent. My closest friend went through something similar and the hospice really helped. Not sure if this is relevant to you, but he also said it was an important time where he got to ask a few questions he'd never felt able to discuss before. Look after yourself Roses, and remember we are here for you.
RE: Sad Beyond Words - Charon - 05-28-2017 We did not use hospice. One half a day with my mom. But, they are some of the greatest nurses on earth. God be with you and bless ur family during this time. |
