RE: Phone call scams - tiggmill - 11-10-2018 I've gotten phone calls, texts, and emails from these relentless badgers! They just call on other numbers. They just don't get it!
RE: Phone call scams - Parapluie - 05-26-2019 I'm going to have to do the same. at this point I just won't pick up if it's an unfamiliar number or not in contacts but a phone block would be worth the investment for these specific calls. One night last year one of these callers, purposefully or not, said just the right-sounding thing and I ended up on the phone forever. These folks, whoever they were, were seriously aggressive as their sales techniques, for lack of a better word. As someone who isn't very assertive generally, just getting off the phone was a pain! RE: Phone call scams - Charon - 05-26-2019 my sister got a spoofed phone number call yesterday. an Indian voice and i know my sister took but one scripted PK during her battle with cancer in 99. So no idea how anyone got her number. But, they spoof to my smart phone the correct area code, and first three digits of my phone. and some trash numbers thereafter. Blocked. My sister got scared to see her own number calling her. Answered. If caller was in her house to collect some pathetically made up tax bill or such, she would have the right to shoot him. Her son in law is a LEO. But as of today, they are spoofing your own number to you. Now, if you block that, the copy of your number, can u potentially block ur own number as well? RE: Phone call scams - betterlife - 01-07-2020 I just saw this thread. For a few months a receive a call from a 'pharmacy'. I can't believe that they expect anyone to buy anything without some verification. No website, no reviews.. I had to block them. RE: Phone call scams - Charon - 01-07-2020 Almost at fifty. good job. Pharmas used to call people all the time. And they will claim in a very foreign voice that your order is ready. Oh yeah? what order pray tell? The sleeze will try to coerce u into a purchase. Cuz, after all, they have all ur records. Sometimes. When ttm2u went down, the rat bastards known thieves and criminals took over the forum whilst Vendor was under arrest. They claimed they had all ur records. And that they know a pharmacist. Yeah, doesn't mean he will do what u ask. Or provide what u ask. So they put up our sources that were not hidden behind fifty posts or 150 posts. And made fake sources as they do so often, ripped off the people. I answer the phone if'n i am up to it in another language. Heck, next time it will be Ave Maria cuz they never listen. And then they claim this is the info i requested. to go to school. hey, girl, i am a doctor of law. no more school. and i am so far still sick. they hang up on me. One can learn to amuse ones self with how one answers. Give up no info. U dont know whom they are. Hola, parlez vous francais, coumo talley vew, and anything that sounds like a differing language and they are gone. Wish i recalled latin. And, be careful. This new thing is to ask you, after telling u its a recorded line (and i say, as i am recording you...) they ask you: Can u hear me? Don't say yes. That is what they want u to say on tape. A SPUNKY OH HELL NO WILL MAKE THEM BLOCK U. When u r bored u can mess with them. but i dont have time to be bored. i shall someday make up hello and go away in the languages i did learn. They have been quiet of late. It is annoying as hell RE: Phone call scams - ununique - 01-08-2020 Back in the day before tr*m*dol was scheduled, I used to get it from a domestic source. Then afterwards, they stopped selling it but must have sold their customer info instead because I started getting the same phone calls and even emails with my old address on them. My phone calls have slowed down significantly at this point but I still get random text messages about pharmacy orders that I can't seem to get rid of. RE: Phone call scams - BeReel1010 - 03-11-2020 These scams are the worst, they preyed on my father-in-law who has dementia and had his scripts delivered and a posing company ended up almost taking thousands from him. Whole situation was awful. I personally use the free app Pinger for online orders now and its great. The number automatically expires after a certain amount of time (if you don’t use it) or you can opt to change the number whenever you want. I know there’s several apps for this now, but I’ve found that with this one even when I have 0mins I can still receive calls and carry on conversation FREE or if I start getting bombarded I just change it. Maybe a loophole in their system, but it’s been a game changer. RE: Phone call scams - Charon - 03-11-2020 I am sorry. And, nowadays, one cannot be sure the FTC cares about identity theft. Abuse of elderly. I read about nine months back that criminals have turned in droves to committing crimes online. The main prey? The elderly. Hoping your Father in law is doing well now. With my sisters MIL, music would bring her right back to us. And she could sing in five languages. Thank u for sharing also. U seem to be wise new member. Thank you Charon. Ugh it’s horrible, unfortunately they are the easiest targets. Thank you, he is taking it day by day. I know it’s made me appreciate the little things in life more.. Wow five languages is amazing! I believe it, music hits our hearts, minds and souls. Thank you.. you truly have an amazing group here I’m glad to be apart of. RE: Phone call scams - seeker47 - 03-20-2020 Oddly enough I suddenly stopped receiving these scam calls as soon as this coronavirus thing blew up |
