I know loraz is the preferred short acting benz that many docs don’t mind prescribing. My assumption for the reason is that I experienced more side effects , the ‘paradoxical’ ones that some who are scripted experience, and that in itself can be a deterrent for abuse in a way.
Many docs also believe that the relief of symptoms from a wider range of psychiatric conditions is larger compared to alps.
Alps give me practically zero side effects these days and loraz, to me, just didn’t feel right when I took them as prescribed years ago.
Both have the same dangers of dependence and it is a bummer that over the past decade of alps being the number 1 most popular for rec use obviously played its hand in the rarity that is now a legit script for generic alps.
Regardless, if loraz works for you and helps treat anyone’s symptoms better than others that’s great!

D, and only when it is a full out panic. Luckily my meditation is getting better. D is really the only type that works well for me, but that’s just me

Lorazepam works longer, where valium has a shorter half life, but does help skeletal pain. Both help you relax. Each person is different. L worked better for me. Hope that helps a little bit!

You have them reversed tiggmill. Diazepam’s half life is 20-50 hours, while lorazepam’s is 10-20. Alprazolam is shorter still at 6-10.
How it affects you physically and psychologically is another matter of course.

Lorazepam knocks me out cold and the next day i'm a zombie. Diaz is more subtle; i think it's part muscle relaxant--part sedative, while loraz is a full-on sedative? Speaking from personal experience idk if this is true for other people.

Don’t know why, but loraz seems to be the most politically correct benzo for doctors to prescribe (which itself is increasingly rare) in my country. Not my favourite anyway. With its long life, and different potencies available (2,5,10) Val’s are just a better fit and easier to taper.

I would say loraz is in between alp and diaz when it comes to strength and half life. It has an intermediate half life, and five times the potency of diaz. It is great for its specific effect, but quite different from alp and diaz

Agree with quickfix. Remember equivalent doses. 1 mg of loraz is equal to 5-10 of diazepam (Valium). I think body chemistry plays a role in your reaction. They are both anti-anxiety meds but I’ve reacted psychologically differently to each.

Valium anytime for me. Lorazepam nor diaZepam have the strength to totally kill anxiety for me but lorazepam causes me so much harsher withdrawals and ups and downs than diaZepam so of course I like diaZepam. To totally kill anxiety, it’s alpraz or klonopin. But I try to stay away from the stronger benzos.
