Good remembering Back2, and good for you Charon, for wracking your brain.  I do like your brain a lot. 

Yeah, Foghorn borrowed his voice mostly from character actor Chill Wills, and was quite the rooster.  Everyone is collaborating on a book here.  Probably it's already been written, but there are recurring themes and constructions to these cartoons.  Just as one example, often there is a big cartoon character, and a smaller sidekick, like Babalouie, Chicken little for Foghorn, Boo Boo bear, Barney for Fred.  They are essential elements serving as straight men, as the voice of common sense, and lots of other stuff.  Altogether they are great memories of less troubled times. 

Thanks to all of you for all of them.

We actually keep chickens in our back yard, we've constructed quite the chicken pen to house them at night, and built a 30 meter x 50 meter run for them with a roof covered with the strongest gauge chicken wire Tractor supply carries (chicken hawks are a big problem in this area).  All but 12 of them were hatched by the original batch of cochin, silky, sultan, and antwerp breeds, so they are relatively small compared to the average chicken, although not as small as bantams or guineas.  My wife found a breed she hadn't seen before on the hatchery site we use and ordered 20 of them about 5 months ago, and we noticed right away that one of the chicks was larger and more aggressive than the others (we only keep one rooster, a cochin who is the best stock rooster I've ever seen - He tends to and protects the hens and the babies like a champ, even attacking our Chihuahua when she gets too close), so it was interesting to watch that big chick grow to adulthood...We could tell by his behavior that he was a rooster, and was going to dwarf the rest of our stock, so we'd planned to give him to a friend who lives in a deep rural area about 20 miles away.  Lo and behold, he grew into the spitting image of Foghorn Leghorn, so that's what we named him (yes, all of our chickens have names, they are pets who have the added bonus of providing 12-20 eggs per week).  We did end up giving him away, as we live in a subdivision, and one rooster crowing at 5AM is about all the neighborhood will put up with (and that's probably because we give away a lot of eggs to our neighbors), but it was pretty cool to have my own Foghorn Leghorn, even briefly.
