The only reaction I really had was feeling warm. It may have been a dosage issue. Next time I see my Doc I am going to ask about this. I am not familiar with them or normal dossages. I def need to look into that and will make a note to now. Speaking in public I can totally relate, most of the time for me it's just being in public that can cause an anxiety attack. RE: Propanalol for anxiety?? - Cantique - 04-13-2019 They certainly help stop the vicious circle, where your body goes into fight or flight physical mode and then your mind follows. And yes they are very good for things like presentations. They have a scarey impact on your heart rate, I was down to 50 BPM. But in my opinion they often need to be taken in conjunction with other meds. RE: Propanalol for anxiety?? - thepianist - 04-13-2019 That may just be you’re super sensitive to b blockers. Metoprolol is most often given alongside an anti coagulant like xar-elto for those with atrial fibrillation for possible stroke prevention. But metoprolol has higher affinity for receptors in the heart muscle than propranolol and doesn’t cross the blood-brain barrier as easily. I’ve never had an issue with propranolol standalone with regard to very low bpm. In fact even in high doses, my heart rate stays around 65-70. Everyone’s body is different and it’s best to get a follow up after starting one for that very reason. They are truly great medicines though. |
