They are cracking down more and more on moving your money without answering a million questions. lol. Thanks Grandote. Use bitcoin, duh. I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner. It's funny how sometimes the answer can be so obvious and simple. We vote with our dollars(or bitcoin, or dinar, peso, etc...) Bitcoins have no paper trail and are rediculously easy to acquire now a days it would be rediculous for us not to consider them. If an IOP accepts bitcoin, great, buy from them and if you've got time mention you chose them b/c they accept bitcoin. If an IOP doesn't, your conversation should go something like this: "Hi vendor, I prefer you over other vendors because (list genuine reasons). So that makes me wonder vender, when do you plan on accepting bitcoin? Not today, you say. No worries. Please inform me when you start, because you are after all my preferred vendor, but in the mean time I guess I'll just buy from this other vendor who does." The good vendors are good b/c they have enough business sense to value repeat customers, and I bet it wouldn't take too many conversations like the one above before a good vendor who currently doesn't accept bitcoin starts accepting it. Rock on Grandote. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Grandote - 02-25-2016 That will do it, Lunar. There is no excuse not to take them and many reasons to take them. MG/WU are cracking down on transfers and say they do not allow purchases, only gifts. A couple conversations like that and they will think again. You can sell bitcoins on many platforms for many types of payment including bank transfer, paypal, swift transfer, etc. And sometimes there is a buyer in the same city for cash. Likewise when you want to buy them. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Lunar - 02-28-2016 Just stumbled on this site which claims to make using bitcoins even easier than Coinbase. www.circle.com It's like PayPal and Coinbase mixed together. They are able to offer PayPal like services for free because they are using the bitcoin platform to send and receive money. In fact, the way they have it set up, you hardly even know bitcoin is being used. It's a perfect solution for those who have avoided crypto-currencies because of the inherent degree of IT know how just to acquire one. Although, becasue of the PayPal like features, it no doubt leaves a paper trail. But so does MG and WU. But, even if it's not used for IOPs it could just about replace MG and WU on every other front. Disclaimer: I just found this site yesterday, and although the above statements sound admittedly like a sales pitch, I can not personally vouch for Circle.com, having only begun my research and not as of yet actually employed their services. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Grandote - 02-28-2016 Circle is good, coinbase is good, both are fine depending on what you want to do. Localbitcoins is good and you can do a local cash trade with no ID needed. Coins from lbc are 'tumbled' or made anon when you get them. They can't be traced to you, only back to lbc but not to a specific user. Make a trade, show up with cash, get your coin, done deal. Easier than mg by a long shot. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Jc_Aloha - 03-06-2016 WU works great with prepaid cards too. More discreet and just as easy. Fee is the same as walk up like someone said. I've never had any issues using a prepaid visa with WU. Literally takes 5 minutes online. I hate going into places as well. I use prepaid cards for anything I need to do with WU. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Longbaugh - 03-08-2016 I'm pretty much done with WU/MG. Just to many hassles. Now I seek out sources that take Bitcoin or Paypal. Even though most sources that take Paypal only do it for a short peroid of time due to buyers that receive their meds and report to Paypal that they were scammed thus ruining it for everyone. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Popster - 03-08-2016 Be careful with Paypal......they are not happy with people using them with IOPs. As I understand it, IOP's that use PayPal would be in violation of PayPal's terms.......do some research first. That's why if you buy meds via paypal you have to declare it as a gift, not a business transaction. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Popster - 03-08-2016 to clarify, Â it is the IOP that would get into trouble with Paypal.....I am not sure about the consumer......either way Paypal's stance on this issue is clear. RE: MoneyGram/Western Union and tor - Longbaugh - 03-08-2016 Yes, that's what I meant. It's the IOP's account that would get shut down. The buyer doesn't suffer any consequences. |
