RE: Western union payments - petiapetkova1984 - 01-12-2019 Ive never had any success with WU online, theyve stopped it every single time..Not tried in person yet but as plastic isnt an option any more, guess I'll have to give it a go. WU won't let you send international payments through their web interface. It's part of an anti money laundering act IIRC. Just ran into this problem recently, and inquired with their customer support. RE: Western union payments - magnet1153 - 01-19-2019 Once again, great info & great feedback. Thank you! The manager somehow overcame it for me but so far the phone is the only method where I never had a problem. What is a yellow phone? I have never heard of this... Helps to be cheerful to the person behind the counter. Actually I try to be nice to anyone working in a service job. It’s rewarding to have a nice human interaction however brief. Gives both parties a lift. Good to know and an excellent response! RE: Western union payments - SleeplessSharpe - 05-26-2019 I have been using WU in money exchange stores for some years.Things have definately changed. Went to send a payment one day and the store had stopped offering WU. Went around town and same thing had happened many places. I think it may have to do with some large banking money white wash scandals, that prompted investigations and stuff. Used to be you could give them any phone number, show id (that wasnt copied or recorded). Now everything is in a computer system, fully traceable. RE: Western union payments - IceWizard - 05-27-2019 When I noticed that they had stopped putting out the forms you fill out to send funds, I grabbed a few and had several copies made... Now they have NO MORE of those slips to fill out to send funds, it's all computer... But since I still have my "copies" I have no problems using them ... Another thing they are starting to pull is they are limiting the number of pmts you can send to any given person/company to 10 per year!!! Great... They just keep tightening the noose and choking us off a little at a time .... Best of luck to us that still use WU.... Ice RE: Western union payments - Sudsy - 05-29-2019 Hi IceWizard, This is the first I have heard about limiting the number of pmts you can send, just great another thing to choke us off. Thank you for the information. Sudsy RE: Western union payments - Instantec - 06-30-2019 Back in the day you used to be able to set a secret question and answer so you could send to someone without ID but I'm sure that has been changed. Also not sure if that worked for sending anything outside the US. |
