Lorazepam works great for me when I have trouble sleeping. Although I too have heard that if you use nightly it become less effective.

Yes, tolerance (ultimately addiction) will build with any benzo so not good to take for any extended period, if at all possible.

Quality of course varies with each vendor...but I also find the effect on me personally varies as well. For example, the d. from a well-respected supplier in the public section makes me quite sleepy so I reserve it for occasional sleeping problems. Another has a slightly more euphoric effect but less drowsiness. Personal body chemistry plays into it too.

I will say I have noticed a HUGE difference between vendors

I agree Catgirl. Even from a prescription from a local pharmacy. They changed generics and I really noticed a difference. The there's the various "quality control" between IOPs...a whole other story.

Lorazepam for me , but is harder to withdraw it.
I barely find anti anxiety effect on diazepam on regular dose.

Diazepam for me as I find it easier to control/monitor my usage. Plus I find i can function better with a smaller dosage.

I don't need euphoria or something that makes me drowsy, just the feeling of normalcy in a social situations. It seems like @tivan has some of these same qualities. Have tried it in the past and felt nothing, maybe that was good and I just didn't realize it or maybe it was not the real thing. That said, I have had v@ls in my toolbox, and use it sometimes for back pain, joint pain and occasional insomnia. For many of us, we need more than one b for different situations and MAYBE to help keep the buildup of tolerance down. No doc would ever script multiple b's like this and it's so sad we need to be our own doc/advocate.

I always thought @tivan was very short term and typically used for panic attacks or sudden onset anxiety..?

I thought that too, i think its one of the few b3nzos specifically prescribed for sudden onset of panic/anxiety attacks. Which of course would make it stronger than diaz, so it really depends what desired effects you need.
Personally i find diaz the king of all b3nzos just right and doesn't feel like its missing a desired effect when one is required.

RE: Diazepam or Lorazepam? - Undermedicated - 08-28-2019

I found the loraz had almost no effect on my anxiety. I’ve tried several different benz@s over the years and I always find myself going back to alp. I’m going to give Diaz another shot next week as it has helped my anxiety in the past just not as well as alp.

I have been lucky that I have never had any w/d symptoms from alp. I’ll go months at a time using every day and when I get low I’ll do a very quick taper from 2-4mg down to nothing within a week and so far so good I’ve never had any issues over the past 20years. Although I am very mindful of not going from 2-4mg a day and just stopping cold turkey. But like I said my tapers are very quick. I guess I’m very lucky as far as that goes.

But I do want to give Diaz another chance especially since people are talking about the muscle relaxant qualities Diaz has which I don’t think alp has any.
So it would be nice if Diaz could control my anxiety issues and give me a little pain relief/muscle relaxant.

Sigh, I haven’t yet found a B3nz0 that relieves my anxiety. All they do is put me to sleep. And while I guess that technically works as I can’t be anxious when asleep, it isn’t very practicalSad
