RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Orange rabbit - 07-29-2017 RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Orange rabbit - 07-29-2017 Love netflix and can't wait for some of the new shows. OR RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Muzicatty - 07-30-2017 1 week from tonigt, Ray Donovan is back. Look who is joining him this season, the legendary Susan Sarandon! The promo looks so good! Can't wait! For those of you asking about The Last Tycoon, I'm on episode 6 and loving it, but I think you have to be a real fan of old Hollywood to get into it. Lily Collins has become one of my new favorite actresses. Did anyone see her and Keanu Reeves in Netflix's To th Bone? She is definitely more than judt Phil Collins' daughter. But he had started out as a child actor, too, so maybe it runs in the genes. Here's a clip for The Last Tycoon. Also, I mentioned Top of the Lake: China Girl earlier this week. It's actually season 2 of the award winning Top of the Lake by Jane Campion. I haven't started it yet (I think they are on episode 5), but I just realized that Nicole Kidman is in it, too, which is fitting since it is shot in New Zealand and Australia. If you like(d) Broadchurch, I think you will like this show. Here is the promo for snyone interested. RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Jc_Aloha - 07-30-2017 Muzicatty- i am totally gonna start Last Tycoon. I hope that Donna doesn't change. This last episode was pretty hard to watch Donna though. I knew Harvey wasn't going to last with the therapist. For some reason I don't see any reason relationships working out. Fireplaces- I loved white collar that is still my top favorite. I watch it when nothing else is on that show was incredible. The writing was so clever I don't think much else will top it. Not for me anyways! That's why I started suits! Shooter is also amazing! It's on the second season I can't even remember if that was brought up. It's really good but for now only has 1 season. I'm gonna try to find the Australian version of Animal kingdom. I was wondering where the name came from and meant. Maybe now it makes more sense to me? Not sure it is available anywhere. The last season of Homeland was so disappointing! It was horrible I was still super attached to the guy in the first couple seasons then Peter took my heart hated seeing him as a drug addict he was such a bad ass and that was so hard to watch. I don't know if that show will come back infortubaly and it wasn't so good. I am tired of seeing clair have a breakdown every episode. The first couple seasons ok it comes come on RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Muzicatty - 07-31-2017 (07-30-2017, 09:03 PM)Jc_Aloha Wrote: Muzicatty- i am totally gonna start Last Tycoon. I think the last couple of episodes were decent, but overall, I was disappointed with what I saw. Hopefully, next season will be better.
RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Jc_Aloha - 07-31-2017 Muzicatty- I hope it is. The first couple were so good. Homeland was too Favorite for a long time. Now it seems to have lost its spark. I heard the Affair is suppose to be good. Haven't checked it out yet. Gonna start last tycoon right now! RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Muzicatty - 07-31-2017 Hi JC_Aloha, Yes, The Affair is excellent! I highly recommend it! I was a huge Dawson's Creek fan, especially a Pacey and Joey fan, and Joshua Jackson is great in The Affair. This past season was a little confusing/surreal, but still good. For the longest time the best shows were on Showtime - Dexter, Homeland, Ray Donovan, The Affair, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Shameless (still a fave!), Weeds, Californication, The Tudors, United States of Tara... there were so many. Now it seems that the network is losing steam. The good news is that if you have the app, all of the original programming is still available. However, I think Amazon, Hulu and Netflix are developing the best original programming now. There was a time HBO was pretty great, too, with The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Entourage, Flight of the Conchords, Big Love, GoT, Hung, Oz (sooo good!), The Wire, Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, True Blood, True Detective and Westworld - off the top of my head - but I haven't been crazy about the network's recent offerings. I liked some seasons of Girls, but I got bored with it after awhile. Same with Veep, and although I think Thomas Haydn Church is amazing (Sideways is one of my favorite movies, as is We Bought a Zoo), I couldn't get into Divorce. Oh, and Cinemax had a couple of good shows - The Knick and Hunted. It will be interesting to see what Flix does now with Berln Station and if the network continues with original programming. They were always the "nostalgic movies" channel to me (think "Pretty in Pink" or any John Hughes flick from the 80's). Man, I need to get some more hobbies. I watch too much TV! Thank goodness for iPads, WiFi hot spots and living close to the beach or else I would be as pale as a ghost. How did we ever exist before computers, tablets, WiFi and cell phones? I think that's why I like The Americans so much. It reminds me of when I was a kid. Things were so much simpler then, or so I vaguely remember. Now my cell has to be on 24/7 and if I don't answer, you bet I hear about it! Anyway, yes, you should definitely check out The Affair. It's different because 1/2 of each episode is shown from 1 character's view (although last season I think I remember a couple of episodes where there were more than 2 characters' points of view). Oh, JC, I agree about Homeland and the first few seasons. When Brody left the show I didn't think it would last, but it did.
RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Muzicatty - 07-31-2017 Oh no! Bad news for all Got fans - and those of us who are behind a few seasons. ‘Game Of Thrones’ Content Leaks Online After HBO Is Hacked The network confirmed the hack, saying it “resulted in the compromise of proprietary information.” By Leigh Blickley X ADVERTISEMENT Winter is here, as are hacking scandals. According to HBO, the network experienced a major cyber attack recently, which allegedly resulted in leaked content from their top series, “Game of Thrones.” Reportedly, hackers have obtained 1.5 terabytes of data from the company and may have posted the script for the upcoming fourth episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 7, as well as episodes of “Ballers” and “Room 104.” Hackers are rumored to be claiming more leaks will be “coming soon.” “HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information,” the network confirmed in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cybersecurity firms. Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold.” Although HBO did not share what information was stolen, hackers allegedly sent an anonymous email to some members of the media on Sunday, bragging about their hacked “Game of Thrones” content. The network has been careful about maintaining secrecy around the show, as leaks and spoilers have threatened to ruin the experience for viewers over the years. In 2015, the first few episodes of Season 5 surfaced on torrent sites, shortly after screeners were sent out to members of the press. The network no longer provides press screeners of the show. HBO is the latest company to experience a devastating hack. Earlier this year, episodes of Netflix’s hit show “Orange Is the New Black” leaked online ahead of the Season 5 premiere. And how can anyone forget about the 2014 Sony hack, which brought forth much backlash for the studio? In an email to employees, HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler discussed the latest breach, writing in part, “The problem before us is unfortunately all too familiar in the world we now find ourselves a part of. As has been the case with any challenge we have ever faced, I have absolutely no doubt that we will navigate our way through this successfully.” RE: Netflix/Amazon Binge Worthy Shows - Muzicatty - 08-01-2017 Audrey, How could I have forgotten Nurse Jackie?! Such a great show and a great follow-up to The Sopranos for Edie Falco because it was such a different character than she had previously played. As for Weeds, I loved that show. One of my all-time favorites for so many reasons. I was so upset when it ended, but the timing was right because medical marijuana was already legal here and initiatives were showng up on every election ballot to legalize it for recreational use. Of course it took another 5 years to pass, but it was time for the show to move on. I think that is also why they went on the road and moved around during the last few seasons, and ended up in NY and CT. I think I might have mentioned in another post that they shot the first couple of seasons in the neighborhood I was living in at the time. It was fun watching them film, but the neighbors would get so upset because it disrupted the (very family oriented) neighborhood and they would also do a lot of night filming, and the lights and noise caused some issues. Nancy Botwin was my hero. I know that's crazy because she was a terrible mother and a complete narcissist, but I still loved her. The opening scene (when they played "Little Boxes" and showed people running in the morning and all driving the same cars, looking the same, etc...) included the actual street that I lived on and my house was one of those "little boxes." It really was that kind of neighborhood, but I didn't fit in - no kids, husband, or Range Rover. It was just close to my office. They also shot on location where I live now, which is about 30 miles away and *trivia time* where Ray Donovan is filmed. Or, at least where the Donovan family home is located. When the Botwins, Celia and Doug all left Majestic/Agrestic and supposedly moved to San Diego, they were actually filming in Manhattan Beach, which is in the South Bay, another part of LA. There is a major film studio there, and remember the show Ally McBeal? It was filmed there also. I actually was an extra in several episodes ang got a "five-liner," which got me my SAG card. Oh, the memories...
