My best friend died this weekend - BoomerB - 02-16-2016 Off suboxone one month, texts me he's gonna go hood fishing. I said whatever, don't wanna know. But he keeps me informed, im givin the capslock "f off i said dont tell me". I came to work today and someone says hes dead. I dont mess w Facebook so im the last to know stuff like that. Im not looking for sympathy, honestly i'm not coming back to this thread. But i ran w him for 25 years and just wanted a memorial... An honest one.... For the record. Did he do it to himself? Of course. This dude was a monster lifted weights was 280 mostly muscle and had tolerances which are so nuts that we stopped telling people our binges 15 yrs ago cuz no one beloeved us. My point is if it can happen to a pro like Jon it can happen to anyone. Benzos were a factor. Please use this site for good- meds to ease stress and pain, get ur man parts working, expand your mind with RCs if u have to, but not as a Bobs Big Boy with opiates on the menu. I'm not preaching, my post history will prove me more a part of the problem up to now. But theres a lot of potential here for good (schedule meds for ppl with skeptical drs) or for ill. Im not gonna tell u the ill because i have done enough damage. Thanks BB RE: My best friend died this weekend - Charon - 02-16-2016 i am so sorry boomer. i believe he is at perfect peace now. if u need to talk, i am here. RE: My best friend died this weekend - andybones - 02-17-2016 Sorry to hear this. Been in your shoes before, and it's tough. May he rest in peace. RE: My best friend died this weekend - forme - 02-17-2016 I am sorry for your loss Boomer! Sadly, I was the first person to view this thread yesterday and it has taken me this long to respond. Due to a bad experience over 3 decades ago... I tend to avoid these situations, when in fact it is people who have had these experiences who should step forward and stand strong for they’re friends. These people live on in our minds and our physical world through our own actions, based on memories/experiences.  Our minds tend to relive the good and eventually submiss the bad as I believe it should be. Grieving is a natural process, and is helpful in keeping us healthy and productive as our lost souls would want us to be! As I shed a tear in typing this, do not be afraid to grieve my friend, it makes you no less a man, in fact a whole man! I truly enjoy your presence on this forum, please do not hesitate to contact me if you need someone to talk to friend! RE: My best friend died this weekend - BoomerB - 02-17-2016 Thanks forme posts like yours make me glad to be back. This whole thing we do here depends on the kindness of strangers and is proof that we still have hope as a race. I will lite a candle tonite for all of our loved ones who stepped out prematurely. Thanks all of you, i said i didn't want any sympathy but now im glad its there. RE: My best friend died this weekend - JimboS - 02-17-2016 Sorry for your loss, Boomer.
