Progesterone 300mg - Lisaislosingit - 05-04-2016

Hello all, I have always been low on progesterone, even having bought sweats in my 20's.  Now at 47 it is obviously increasing to the point that I'm getting very little sleep most nights. I do not want the estrogen and progesterone combo that my doc wants to use. I'm not low in E and my sister just finished cancer treatment for uterine cancer that was aggravated by her use of estrogen prescribed by her doctor. In any event I have been given progesterone solo in the past and it worked perfectly. So I'm looking for just that.  Thank you for any advice.

You are on the right track!!   Please don't take your Doc's advice on the 'combo'!!!  I did, years ago, and it landed me in the hospital for a week!  And I only used the combo for 5 DAYS!!  I was as sick as I ever want to be.  Too dumb to stop taking the s**t after I started to get sick. (Thought I had the flu - lol)  By the time I was admitted, I was dehydrated, blood count was freaking out, gall bladder had to be removed, and so on!!!  Personally, after that, I refused even the progesterone.  And I just learned to anticipate all the nasty pains in the *ss that come with that phase in life.  Dressing in sleeveless tops with a light jacket.  Bought several of the 'cooling' pillows (great pillows) and put a fan in the bedroom for use winter and summer.  You can fight it, but if you feel the progesterone is right for you, great.  Just keep an eye on your health, because as you go thru all the crap, other things change which could lead to not needing the progesterone - be sure to stop it at the first sign of something being not quite right!!
Best of Luck!!!!

I have fans and all the others. I've been dealing with this off and on for 20years. Not a menopausal issue at the time but if course now add that on top of it and it's even worse.  I plan to only take it during bad periods.  I've been on it before and it worked.  I will always refuse estrogen.  My sister had post menopausal bleeding and the doc put her on combo hormones. Never helped and he just kept changing the dose but did no further testing.  18mos later she finally goes to another doc and it's uterine cancer fairly advanced.  The initial bleeding was the first symptoms but instead of investigating that which would've led to a hysterectomy and complete cure, the estrogen fed the cancer and it grew exponentially.  She just finished 7mos. of aggressive chemo and radiation. All completely avoidable if the original doc had followed standard procedure for post menopausal bleeding which is to screen for cancer first!

Thank you. She is bald, tired and weak but still here thank God.  We just lost our mom a year ago then she got sick soon after. Been a rough couple years. Hopefully now we can have style boring uneventful lives for a while.

I don't have a specific answer, suggestion on where to get progesterone.  But was thinking one of the body builder sites that sell testosterone might have it.

Anybody know?

I have been looking there too I do have some needs from a site like that also.  I have found other anti estrogens but not specifically progesterone.  There are several compounds that I'm not sure what they do so I am researching. Possibly one of them has the same mechanism it's just called something else.  I'm also researching herbs for this purpose also.

Thanks, Fire

Just updating to say that my sister finished treatment and received the all clear for the moment. So great news there. Of course it could recur but we will take this news for now!

Another update in case someone is searching. I have found progesterone at dpm24 and another place, shoot forgot where but ask if you're looking and I'll dig it up I'm sure I bookmarked it. Although the strengths vary from 100 to 200mg. Usually I have been prescribed 300mg for hard core night sweats.
