Cortocondritus - Ladybug - 07-09-2017 Has anyone here had cortocondritus? Doctors tell me that the pain I get in my sternum is cortocondritus? Would appreciate any sharing. Thee condition is mainly in the chest - mine is in the sterium - of course I have had chest cracked open twice with 2 OHS. RE: Cortocondritus - Anamcara - 08-17-2017 Costocondritis, inflammation of the chest muscles between your ribs? Yes I have had this and it is painful! Sorry you are dealing with it now. The good news is, it usually gets better over time, but the bad news is it can flare up from time to time. In my case, the first occurance was the worst and since then I've had minor flare ups once every few years, but they were much less severe. Try to stay very bundled up in cold weather as that seems to be a trigger. You might try turmeric for the inflammation. There is something in Ayurvedic medicine called "golden milk," just turmeric powder and a little honey or other sweetener in milk. You can use milk substitutes too, like rice or almond milk. Drink it hot or cold. It is very soothing. In my case, I had to avoid wearing clothing that required putting one's arms far behind the body to put on. Try to avoid everything that puts any stress on the area, even if it is only carrying a light purse or grocery bag. Rest is the best thing when you are going n the acute phase. I hope you feel better soon! |
