LOMOTIL - celts17 - 10-26-2017 Hey folks, hope everyone is having a good year. I will get right to the point, looking for the stomach medicine lomotil. I have not posted much since the holidays- boy it’s been a fast year as here they come again – , but been checking in here and there. Been a rough year; many family and friends; people are getting sick. But anyway, once again the ridiculous aspect of our healthcare system frustrates me. So I am simply looking for Lomotil. For the record, my former doctor now treats individual patients for 20,000 per patient. He left his practice to do that, because he found the present system way too difficult. Anyway to repeat looking for Lomotil, and I know there is a generic name for it is well ending in IDE I think. I may be wrong. I don’t think they are scheduled. Don’t know why they would be, but again may be wrong. Thx everyone, and especially the moderators, and of course special C, the nicest person on online or one of them. By the way C, my mom is hanging tough but it is hard. I hope you are well, and maybe I’ll write you a note in the next few days. Peace out and thanks everyone again. Celts 7777777 Celts or as C once called me that guy, not to be confused with the TV show that girl from the 70’s. Inside joke
RE: LOMOTIL - Charon - 10-26-2017 Loperamide is a medication that is used for the relief of acute diarrhea and the management of chronic diarrhea in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis). The effectiveness of loperamide is comparable to another anti-diarrheal, diphenoxylate (Lomotil). ibsgroup.org discusses the med and i wonder if theys suggest a vendor. Does anyone know one? Its a simple med for GI problems. IBS. But, I have seen big pharma is trying to push humira, which is for RA only, for acne and chrons disease and anything else they can get away with. If anyone knows a source, u can PM me or our celts friend with a vendor that carries same. RE: LOMOTIL - celts17 - 10-26-2017 C once again you are right on it. Yup that is exactly what the generic name is thank you. And thanks for your help hope you are good :-) RE: LOMOTIL - celts17 - 11-02-2017 C I have been using Zantac, but am going to try loperamide aka Imodium. Lomotil is actually two meds atropine and another, it’s easy to google. Unfortunately since it has a substance similar to demerol but you have to take 40 to supposedly even feel anything. A script is 50 to a 100. Sorry I misread C, but gonna try Imodium but thought you had to take it daily for it to work, but I take Zantac almost daily anyway. I understand the crisis on this country, but typical now lomotil is on the list? Sigh, this is why folks order as nowadays one wrong med on your insurance and thousands more in premiums. All scripts should be sealed, then the insurance companies could not extort us. Meanwhile they are selling herb wax that is 90% thc? And I am all for legal herb, but sorry I would not want my kid Vaping wax and driving. This ain’t even 80’s kind which I guess was maybe 8 to 10 % thc. Whatever, just thankfully herb is much more benign than liquor. Ok would your prefer coast to coast next to a person doing shots or doing bong hits. Exactly. I keep waiting for this great country to shake off the fear, and return to old school integrity and empathy, but fear makes people not themselves and leafs to ibs. Ok soliloquy over. Thx C. You are a person who promotes hope. And I’m no rebel, just prey the 90’s hope returns one day. And by the way, ehh said enough but it is a free country. Thx folks, I’ll update in few weeks. RE: LOMOTIL - barq2 - 11-02-2017 Kirkland Signature (the CostCo own brand) do loperamide in bottles of 200 x 2mg tablets for only a few dollars ($10-15). I think I got mine from a general health and supplement shop. I can PM you a name if you struggle finding it, but search for "Kirkland Loperamide" and you'll find it quite easily. I'd say it is a useful addition to any family's medicine cabinet. RE: LOMOTIL - celts17 - 11-22-2017 Benny no for some reason, Zantac works better, I just got it confused, but I’m cleared up of what is what. Yes you don’t want to be taken Imodium after taking Zantac that’s a sure. Anyway, I can’t believe I’m saying this, and not to glorify anything, but actually herb suckers have help my stomach big time. I think they have help the irritation or just help to heal. It might just be a coincidence, but if herb suckers help my stomach, and I want to do years of paying for nothing, I am not going to be a happy camper. Anyway, thanks for your help, and as much as I like to think, probably mainly coincidence. But I think it does help. I have friends in AA that SSay 10 mg of herb indigo sucker and say that it is very mellow. If they don’t get freaked out, I won’t get freaked out, and I casually vape unlike sober folks. I usually just don’t like eating it, but it actually has changed now that they control the dosage. Sorry I’m going way off topic but this is actually helping out my stomach. And anything that helps my stomach is miracle. Finally yes I did find some lomotil on the site that most of the regulars know. Just think Julia Irving RE: LOMOTIL - pallasathena - 02-28-2018 I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents... Lomotil is a "controlled substance" (schedule five I think?) in the US. Even though I've never known anyone to have a problem with anti-diarrheal addiction. It's a combination of atropine and diphenoxylate. It is NOT the same as Immodium/loperamide, which is otc in the States. Zantac (ranitidine) is a medication for reflux (mainly). It's an H2 blocke (histimine blocker), more like Pepcid-- so sometimes people use it for hives. I HAVE seen it offered from iops, but not often. I guess I'd just keep checking. For some reason, US doctors hate to prescribe it. They like to say, "just use Immodium" but sometimes that just doesn't work. When my elderly (80s) mother used to need it occasionally, I'd alternate doses of lomotil and immodium to make it last longer. I'd just keep checking the vendors-- it's possible they don't list it because there isn't much demand. Good luck. RE: LOMOTIL - Justice1 - 02-28-2018 My favorite need for that sort of thing is donnatol, but they don't want to give it to people because it has phenobarbitol in it,,16 mg per dose, helps relax you |
