Close off the internet?? as China & Russia?? - folken - 03-20-2019
Russia is considering whether to disconnect from the global internet briefly, as part of a test of its cyber-defences.
The test will mean data passing between Russian citizens and organisations stays inside the nation rather than being routed internationally.
A draft law mandating technical changes needed to operate independently was introduced to its parliament last year.
The test is expected to happen before 1 April but no exact date has been set.
As you all know China already has a closed internet.
Russia is about to, and China now will only allows access through certain government controlled servers.
This is to shield them from cyber attack << and monitor the population???-- naaah!! >>>
What does the USA need to do?? -- other countries are setting themselves up against cyber attack but we are wide open? How to keep internet freedom and protection from attack?
Another wall?? in a sense...… or do we wait until we are the only country with open << cough cough >> borders...………
