They are sending via mail new scams - Charon - 09-05-2022

Just be careful. We are used to scammers via phone and via online. But now they are mailing one what they are hoping looks legit.

1. Reminder regarding BWW Collective Action Lawsuit

On June 28th, you were mailed, emailed and texted Notice advising you of your rights in a lawsuit because "you worked as a server, Busser, Bartender or other tipped worker at the Buffalo Wild Wings located in Middletown NY at any time from sept 23 to present."

So I am supposed to go to a web site and give up all my details to be part of the collective action. Assuming they mean Class Action.

Yeah, nope. BWW sounds like Big White Women. And, I have never done bars or worked in any capacity wherein I was tipped.

Don't fall for this stuff. It is a scam to get your information cuz we are all hitting harder times.

2. Federal Trade Commission v. On Point Global

Court records show that you entered personal information online to check eligibility for gvt assistance programs like section 8 housing assistance or food stamps. The website you visited was not a gvt site and didn't deliver what it promised.

The Federal Trade Commission sued the company that created the deceptive website and won a 17 million judgment. You are eligible for a payment from this judgment.

Ok, class action lawsuits result in people winning maybe 2 cents. It benefits the attorneys involved. This is all fake.

Nope, I would not go to On Point Global to ask about social security. I would go to my county of residence. Check out available benefits. Which I did not do anyway.

Then, how would "they: know that the alleged web site i went to did not deliver what it promised.

And we all trust the FTC now.

But in its final lines, it states go to their website and file a claim. Again, they want my information for some God forsaken reason.

Don't fall for this. You have to contact an attorney at law, and go thru a process to be part of a class action suit. One does not get postcards in the mail. With erroneous information.

I don't even know what On Point Global is but for a scam.

Don't fall for any of this stuff.

Just saying.

I've been receiving emails from
Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Training depot.
for that "contaminated water" back in the day...

I've gotten 5 (all with different "claim numbers" )
the only problem is, my Dad went to Camp Lejeune,
I was in San Diego MCRD ...
{ He always said that I was a "Hollywood Marine" and got issued sunglasses}

So I kinda figured it's just mass mailing to try and scam anyone they can...

There is also some "company" in Florida it says, trying to make sure
I get ALL my benefits I'm entitaled to from United Health ... Done talked to my Ins agent...
It's not them ...

These low life people will do anything to trick and confuse anyone to
give up their info in order to rip them off...

Despicable ...

If you were tricked into entering personal information to find out if you were eligible for government assistance programs,
you can apply to get a payment. The FTC sued the company responsible for these websites and won a judgment. The court
is authorized to pay up to a total $17 million dollars to consumers who were harmed.

The deadline to apply for a payment is September 7, 2022.

The defendants, On Point Global, ran more than 200 websites that claimed to check whether a person was eligible for government
assistance programs like the Housing Choice Voucher program, Section 8 housing assistance, or food stamps. As part of the process,
the websites asked people for information like their age, gender, income, and credit or debit card number.

RE: They are sending via mail new scams - Charon - 09-05-2022

i get emails from Camp leJuene.

Whereas I pray for all those whom were forced to drink contaminated water, Me father and I were gonna go to CAnada if i were drafted during VietNam war. I am a conscienscious objector, forget spelling its a long long day, and I often would carry my legal weaponry with bullets in hand. I don't take life if I can avoid doing so. And he would go to protect me and keep his driving privileges.

I cannot believe they are going after you for that. And in the UK, i read a piece wherein they states: the population of UK has got to be less squeamish about drinking sewage water.. U kidding me?

Great find on global point.

Gonna read that here. Cuz its from your research and therefore I am safe.

I just found another thread you started a couple years ago. Gotta find it again and give it stars.

You never fail to impress me with your research abilities and your work ethics.

Prayers and love to your family, including all the katz. Prince Harrison does not act like a feral anymore. He just won't use a litter box. sighs.

Ok, so now i get to read what these creeps are up to. Thank you!!

Days after President Biden announced a sweeping plan to forgive thousands of dollars in federal student loans, authorities are warning of scammers preying on those with student debt.

Several police agencies around the country are urging people to be on the lookout for “red flags” that may indicate a would-be scammer.

Among them are promises to get student borrowers even more money, or claims they can get a borrower their money faster, police said.

Wall St. Legend Warns: "Move Your Money in 2022"
By Chaikin Analytics
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) put out a statement telling student loan borrowers they don’t need to do anything or pay anybody to sign up for the new program.

“Nobody can get you in early, help you jump the line, or guarantee eligibility,” the agency said. “And anybody who says they can — or tries to charge you — is (1) a liar, and (2) a scammer.”

Biden's relief plan will provide up to $20,000 in debt cancellations to those who received Pell Grants with loans held by the Department of Education, and $10,000 in cancellation for non-Pell Grant recipients.

The FTC said the Department of Education is working out the details of the new plan and would notify borrowers when the process has officially opened.

In the meantime, police have outlined several tips borrowers can take to avoid falling victim to scammers. They include:

Don’t agree to pay anyone for assistance in obtaining this relief.
Don’t provide personal or financial information in response to unsolicited emails, phone calls, or texts either purportedly from the federal government or a company claiming to be able to assist you with obtaining the announced relief.
Beware of student loan debt relief companies that ask for fees up front or claim they’ll eliminate all of your debt immediately.
Don’t be rushed. To get you to act fast, scammers say you could miss qualifying for repayment plans, loan consolidation, or loan forgiveness programs if you don’t sign up right away. Take your time and check it out.
Don’t give away your FSA ID. Some scammers claim they need your FSA ID to help you, but don’t share it with anyone.
Review your financial aid offers and keep track of the amounts you applied for and received.
Keep receipts and documents with personal information in a safe place, and shred them when you are finished with them.

Or, man up and pay your damned student loan. I would go a year and then work two full time jobs for the next year. I turned down a full scholarship in tenth grade to a school for writers as I needed all A's in School I was afraid my age would cuz me to have lower grades. And i just did things my way.

I started at one college in my state. and five colleges later, in differing states, i returned to my first college to finish that degree.

But I could do this whilst running a law/tax office with me father. It had to be done.

This jackal whom is forgiving student debt is certainly doing these youngins no favor. Life is about paying one's way. And learning. Had we known they were learning crapadoodle stuff, hating on us and our country, we would not have allowed our children to go to colleges and thereafter.

Why do you all think its AOK to destroy our country so you don't have college debt and can therefore buy homes, FJB confirmed. Most of us still cannot afford to buy homes, Dufus.

Few posts back, you are right about our waters getting contaminated.
This is down to the government telling industrys like farmers but not just them and local water authorities that dumping raw sewage into the rivers is somehow ok to do now.
Bearing in my mind that it will find its way into the water table with very bad results, poison.

Are they stark raving mad, does that make them just not care,as nlong as shareholders get a profit.
Water was never owned by private companies,it was managed by local bodies and the water board.

RE: They are sending via mail new scams - Charon - 10-28-2022

It is pure insanity now. I would like to see the Elites of the UK drinking sewage water.
