Face to face with pain Dr
#11
Don't know about docs in the US but in the UK its become like seeing a snake oil sales men,the new snake oil being anti-depressants,just gratefull we have an NHS,won't be long before we start getting charged though, the NHS is being slowly eroded, give it 10 years or less and we will be just like the US,even heard politicians saying we should pay.
Is this what our forefathers fought fascism for?

This thread pretty much describes everything that is wrong with the current state of pain management medicine. It is unfortunate that the laws are written the way that they are, so some of the less scrupulous doctors use it to their monetary advantage.

Its crazy now days.
A friend of mine was diagnosed with stage four cancer and they sent her home with Tramadol. It wasn't until she saw a primate care that she was able to get pain meds
She passed away a month later
There are too many laws protecting ourselves from ourselves and sometimes those laws and regulations get in the way of people who truly need things.

Hope you have found an alternative...i'm taking my stepdad to a 4th pain dr monday in the past year...just been having too many issues. if its not one thing its another. The recent change in his insurance policy/policy holder should help things though.

My father will be seeing a Pain Dr. soon, however he is concerned that he will be urine tested; He's a daily marijuana user, and uses about 1-2 (generic)oxycodone on the days that he works, which is Mon-Fri. The oxy/acet. were bought from a friend, because he lost a 7.5mghydrocodone/acet. prescription when our Family Medicine doctor stopped writing opioids.

It's a troubled path when you need relief to work for your living but cannot get it because of the way it's controlled.

It so stupid here Gr@@c@ like most other countries. Every month I have to waste 2 hours waiting doc to decide what to prescribe. It is not possible here to find the same doc you had the last time. Most of the change drugs and it is a chaos situation. There are some stupid docs they just write cod 10 mg on cancer patients and some giving easy m@rphine for just 30 euros. It is vrazy since there is NHS here but doctors want gifts all the time because they complain that they cant live from salary. So sometimes I have to give even 50 euros to them to Rx something good . And my problem is that due to economical crises and capital controls most pain meds do not get imported here since 2-3 years. No HydroCOD , no Oxy, No op@na. Usually cod 30 mg or if you are lucky morph pills .It is a nightmare. So I depend on good sources of IOP. Just to get scammed many times in the past. I have pain problems years now and I stugle every time to find my meds from internet sources. It is so hard, Iam tired and I need help.

Wow that sounds so shady. Was very easy in the US to get a lot of meds. Unfortunately basically all meds are being cut back. And every doctor looks at you like an @ddict if you need anything stronger than Tylenol. Still, having to slip your doctor money to get an Rx is horrible.

I have to pain my paid doc 275 a month and they are very strict. Take a urine test every month and the watch you pee. Almsot to the point of holding for you. LOL. I kid you not. I wish I could get post dates scripts. They also only feel every 30 days. So if it is 31 days you are out of luck. It has really gotten out of control. It is all of the young kids and others getting meds just for diverting. I have back issues, had surgery and this medicine is a god send. I just get one narcotic bit it makes me able to work and have quality of like. Sorry to rant but wanted you to know it is worse in some places. I think it is going to back fire as I see the overdoes are up for herion. Some people just cant afford legad medication anymore which is really a shame for everyone.

My new doc here in AZ, since I'm just here for the winter, saw me last month gave me my reg 120 10x325 hydros, today only 90 and said I need to go see a pain management dr, again! Bunch of thieves! I'll go next month but I'll be at a pain of 10 with my crutch and he better Rx me a lot of worthwhile stuff!
Things are getting bad all over, unless you're a legal licensed pusher.
Peace all and I pray we all get the relief we need!

Hello Hollywoodjimbo. I also have to go to a PM doc to get my meds. I have to take a urine test everything time and they do not take insurance so I have to pay 275 a month. I understand too a point why they have to do this now but it does seem like some people are making a lot of money on this.
