Lord Jesus, be with all of those who have been, and still are, being attacked and persecuted, who have just been trying to live their lives peacefully, enjoying their families and life, with no intentions of harming others.
We know that YOU are ALWAYS in complete control, even when it appears as if you are ignoring our pleas. Everything that You do is good. Everything that You allow, You work it into something good.
For You cannot sin. You can only do what is righteous. And when mankind causes terrible suffering to others, You are STILL in control, because You allow it for reasons known only to You. Reasons that are good. So, all we can do is pray and have faith in what your word says, and that is: “GOD IS GOOD.”
And even when we just don’t know what to pray, You do.
Romans 8:26–28
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Lord, it’s so very difficult, and without Your Spirit it is impossible, to believe this during times like these. Please give us the strength and faith in You so that we do not lose heart. Grant us your peace, which surpasses all understanding.
Lord, please help the persecuted, the anguished, the hurting, the terrified, the angry, the traumatized and the weary. We know that your timing is different from ours, but please remember that we are mere humans. We are not like You! Please remember that we are frail! Please come soon. Even knowing your reasons for waiting, knowing that 2nd Peter 5:9 says:
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
Please give us Your strength to endure! Even so, we long for your return and pray that You return for us soon!
