James 1 : 21-27
KJV

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness,
and receive with meekness the engrafted word,
which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word,
and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer,
he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way,
and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty,
and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer,
but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious,
and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart,
this man's religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,
To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,
and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

Living source of all that is eternal in us,
we come to You and plead with You to strengthen the gifts
You have given us.
Grant us the light of life in which we can walk in spite of the
many burdens and uncertainties of our earthly life.
Protect us from deception and disappointment.
Strengthen our hope for your steadfast, firm,
and eternal rule in us, in many others,
and finally in all people.

Psalm 32 : 5-11
KJV

5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee,
and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said,
I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord;
and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee
in a time when thou mayest be found:
surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
7 Thou art my hiding place;
thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the
way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule,
which have no understanding:
whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle,
lest they come near unto thee.
10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked:
but he that trusteth in the Lord,
mercy shall compass him about.
11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous:
and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

You are among us and we can call You Abba, dear Father.
In the joy of being Your children we want to lay our lives
into Your hands to be made good and happy.
Care for us like a shepherd pasturing his flock so that we
can have community with one another.
Help us to realize that You have many children here and everywhere,
and that again and again You take a child by the hand saying,
You are mine. I am caring for you.”
We thank You that Your eyes watch over all the world.
We thank You that your rule is over all humankind and
will bring good to all people, wherever they may live.
May this happen soon through our Savior. We call to Him,
Lord Jesus, come. Come soon!
May Your hand keep us all close to the Father in heaven
.”

Ephesians 5 : 6-14
KJV

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words:
for because of these things cometh the wrath of God
upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness,
but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 ( For the fruit of the Spirit is in all
goodness and righteousness and truth; )
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful
works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those
things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made
manifest by the light:
for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ shall give thee light.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

We come into your presence,
for you are our certainty, our refuge,
especially in these times when so much is happening
to grieve and trouble us.
You are our God and our Savior today and for all time.
You have always been our Savior and helper,
and you will remain our Savior and helper forever.
We praise you and glorify your name.
Give a new spirit in our day, we pray,
new help through the gospel brought by Jesus Christ.
May your name be kept holy, your kingdom come,
and your will be done on earth as in heaven..”

John 14 : 1-7
KJV

1 Let not your heart be troubled:
ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions:
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know,
and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord,
we know not whither thou goest;
and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me,
ye should have known my Father also:
and from henceforth ye know him,
and have seen him.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

Help us find the path that we may walk with confidence
because You are our Father.
Banish all thoughts that try to depress us.
Let Your Spirit drive them away.
May our hearts become quiet before You,
because You, the Almighty,
guide everything for the good of people on earth.
Everything will lead to thanksgiving,
to Your praise and glory.
Be with us at all times, day and night.
May our hearts always exult afresh,
rejoicing in You,
our God and our Savior.

Isaiah 1 : 12-20
KJV

12 When ye come to appear before me,
who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
13 Bring no more vain oblations;
incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths,
the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with;
it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth:
they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
15 And when ye spread forth your hands,
I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers,
I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
16 Wash you, make you clean;
put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment,
relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless,
plead for the widow.
18 Come now, and let us reason together,
saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool.
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel,
ye shall be devoured with the sword:
for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

Grant Your Spirit to us, Your children.
May something from You be revealed on earth
so that divine strength and divine truth,
not what is only human, are with us in all we do.
Keep courage alive in our hearts even when things look dark.
May powers of peace and healing be revealed through us
because You are near and Your kingdom is all around us.
You can do all things, also things beyond our understanding.
With Your help we do what we are able,
but we cannot do what You do.
We trust in You,
and we believe that through Your power and Your Spirit
You will take possession of our whole lives and the lives
of the many who sigh in their hearts for absolute truth.

1 John 4 : 11-19
KJV

11 Beloved, if God so loved us,
we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time.
If we love one another, God dwelleth in us,
and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him,
and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father
sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God,
God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.
God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God,
and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect,
that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:
because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love;
but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.
He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him,
because he first loved us.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

We thank you with all our hearts for
showing your power in us and for overcoming so much that
is hostile and that threatens to harm our life.
We thank you for the countless wonders you do for our sake.
We rejoice and thank you most of all for allowing us to
know that you are writing our names in heaven.
Where our names are, there we are too.
Where our Lord Jesus Christ is,
there we want to be too,
and our words and our actions should come from him.
Keep us faithful in this,
and let us serve you with gladness
on every path we tread.

Colossians 1 : 22-29
KJV

22 In the body of his flesh through death,
to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled,
and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel,
which ye have heard,
and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven;
whereof I Paul am made a minister;
24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you,
and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh
for his body's sake, which is the church:
25 Whereof I am made a minister,
according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you,
to fulfil the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from
ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches
of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles;
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man,
and teaching every man in all wisdom;
that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29 Whereunto I also labour,
striving according to his working,
which worketh in me mightily.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

We thank You for helping us again and again.
Praised be Your name for all You do for us and
for all Your help in many dangers and hardships!
We trust You completely and have faith in You through
Jesus Christ, the Savior. He reveals Your grace everywhere,
in every hardship, giving us the courage and freedom
to look toward Your kingdom.
Help us remain courageous when we have to face suffering,
for we want to be Your disciples in Jesus Christ,
the Crucified One.
He has made suffering holy,
that our suffering too may bear fruit for
You in time and in eternity.

Isaiah 54 : 6-14
KJV

6 For the Lord hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee;
but with great mercies will I gather thee.
8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment;
but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.
9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me:
for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth;
so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed;
but my kindness shall not depart from thee,
neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed,
saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.
11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest,
and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours,
and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
12 And I will make thy windows of agates,
and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord;
and great shall be the peace of thy children.
14 In righteousness shalt thou be established:
thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear:
and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

Keep us in the grace that is ours through Jesus Christ.
Uphold others also in this grace.
Reveal Yourself everywhere to those who trust in You
and who await Your kingdom.
May Your blessing be on our household.
We thank You for helping us, and with Your help
we want to be faithful to You.
Then when hardships come,
we can be certain of Your presence.
We know and trust You.
We know and trust the Savior,
and we know and trust the Holy Spirit,
in whom we can have community and be strengthened
to serve Your glory.

John 13 : 17-27
KJV

17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen:
but that the scripture may be fulfilled,
He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass,
ye may believe that I am he.
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me;
and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit,
and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
that one of you shall betray me.
22 Then the disciples looked one on another,
doubting of whom he spake.
23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples,
whom Jesus loved.
24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him,
that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him,
Lord, who is it?
26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop,
when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop,
he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 And after the sop Satan entered into him.
Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

We thank You that even in need and misery
we may feel and know that You are with the weak,
for You are mighty in helping Your children.
You give the weak strength to serve You in spite of all their
faults and weaknesses.
Make us glad at heart for everything we are allowed
to do and experience,
because it serves You, Your glory,
and Your kingdom until the day when others
also are given eyes to see.

Ecclesiastes 7 : 13-20
KJV

13 Consider the work of God:
for who can make that straight,
which he hath made crooked?
14 In the day of prosperity be joyful,
but in the day of adversity consider:
God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end
that man should find nothing after him.
15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity:
there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness,
and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.
16 Be not righteous over much;
neither make thyself over wise:
why shouldest thou destroy thyself ?
17 Be not over much wicked,
neither be thou foolish:
why shouldest thou die before thy time?
18 It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea,
also from this withdraw not thine hand:
for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.
19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more
than ten mighty men which are in the city.
20 For there is not a just man upon earth,
that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

Open the door for us, we pray.
Grant that we may come to You in spirit.
Grant that in You we may find peace and
courage for our whole lives.
Lead us always by Your Spirit.
Help us to find Your will on earth and grant us
access to Your heavenly powers,
for alone we can do nothing.
Strengthen our faith so that we can always serve You.
Bless Your Word in us.
May our hearts be opened, for we are Your children,
O Lord our God, through Jesus Christ our Savior.
