Hebrews 8:5 - 12


5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things,
as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle:
for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed
to thee in the mount.
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry,
by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant,
which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless,
then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith,
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant with the 

house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers
in the day when I took them by the hand 

to lead them out of the land of Egypt;
because they continued not in my covenant, 

and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will 

make with the house of Israel after
those days, saith the Lord; 

I will put my laws into their mind,
and write them in their hearts:
and I will be to them a God,
and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour,
and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord:
for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness,
and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Dear Father in heaven,

We may come to you,
for you have counted us as your children.
Our hearts long to come to you,
our God and Savior.
May your Word bless us and restore us.
Give us courageous hearts to bear the distress of our times.
Let a light arise in our days so that people care about your will.
Then the need on earth shall come to an end,
your name shall be honored,
and your will be done.
Lord God,
you alone are our help.
Be merciful to us.
Stretch out your hand so that all people may turn to you
and to your commandments,
and your will may be done on earth.

Lord our God,

Keep us in your Spirit.
Surround us with your protection,
so that in body and soul we may praise your might and
be joyful even in a world full of evil.
Shine into our hearts,
that we may discern what is right and good and eternal.
May you do more than we can ask or understand for those
who still walk in darkness far away from you.
May your eternal mercy enfold them,
and may the earth be filled with thanks to you,
the Creator and Father of us all.

Philippians 2:5 - 11

8 And being found in fashion as a man,
he humbled himself,

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him,
and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of things in heaven, and things in earth,
and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Dear Father in heaven,

We come before your presence with thanksgiving and
rejoice that you are with us on earth.
Even though we have many struggles and temptations
and even though problems crowd in upon us,
we know that we are in your hands and that everything
must go according to your will. Hold us securely in your hand.
Help us to bear all that we find hard, for we know you
are in control and you lead everything to a good end.
The darker and more difficult it may seem,
the more clearly your hand will reveal the victory in those
whose lives are founded in eternity,
whose lives cannot end in sorrow
but will end in your glory.

and not a doer,
he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself,
and goeth his way,
and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty,
and continueth therein,
he being not a forgetful hearer,
but a doer of the work,
this man shall be blessed in his deed.

but deceiveth his own heart,
this man's religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,
To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,

Dear Father in heaven,

Living source of all that is eternal in us,
we come to you and plead with you to strengthen the gifts
you have given us.
Grant us the light of life in which we can walk in
spite of the many burdens and uncertainties of our earthly life.
Protect us from deception and disappointment.
Strengthen our hope for your steadfast, firm,
and eternal rule in us, in many others,
and finally in all people.

A quick praise report: my BIL did not have CoV. They are releasing him in a couple days. he just started walking again and caring for himself in the hospital. He is coming home. Thank you Lord.

125 I am thy servant;
give me understanding,
that I may know thy testimonies.

Lord, to work:
for they have made void thy law.

Dear Father in heaven,

You are among us and we can call you Abba, dear Father.
In the joy of being your children we want to lay our lives
into your hands to be made good and happy.
Care for us like a shepherd pasturing his flock so that we can
have community with one another. Help us to realize that you
have many children here and everywhere, and that again
and again you take a child by the hand saying,
“You are mine. I am caring for you.”
We thank you that your eyes watch over all the world.
We thank you that your rule is over all humankind and
will bring good to all people, wherever they may live.
May this happen soon through our Savior.
We call to him,
“Lord Jesus, come. Come soon!
May your hand keep us all close to the
Father in heaven.”
