Psalm 56 : 1-7

   
1 Be merciful unto me, O God:
for man would swallow me up;
he fighting daily oppresseth me.
2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up:
for they be many that fight against me,
O thou most High.
3 What time I am afraid,
I will trust in thee.
4 In God I will praise his word,
in God I have put my trust;
I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
5 Every day they wrest my words:
all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 They gather themselves together,
they hide themselves,
they mark my steps,
when they wait for my soul.
7 Shall they escape by iniquity?

Today's Prayer...


Lord our God,

We come before you in the great name of Jesus Christ.
We thank you that while we are still living on
earth you give us hope and joy in this great name.
May something be born in us through your Spirit
to make us of one mind with Jesus Christ.
In all our relationships with others may we learn
that it is better to submit in patience than to dominate,
better to serve than to rule,
better to be the weakest than to bring pressure
to bear on others.
Give us this attitude.
Let this attitude arise in many so that they may
be Christians not only in their words and thoughts,
but Christians at heart,
loving their neighbors and at one
with the Savior on every step of the way.

that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:

18 There is no fear in love;

because fear hath torment.
He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.

I love God,
and hateth his brother,

Lord our God,

What can separate us from your love?
Can trouble or fear or persecution or hunger
or nakedness or peril or the sword?
In all these things we are more than conquerors
through him who loved us.
Dear Father in heaven,
we long for courage.
You will answer our prayers and again
and again grant us strength, the power of your Spirit,
the only power that can strengthen us.
We thank you for all you have done for us.
Help us onward from victory to victory until
everything on earth is won for the good,
to your honor among all humankind.

Lord our God,

Grant that we may be your watchmen,
who can understand what you mean for our time.
We thank you for all you have already done,
for every change to the good among the nations.
For the nations must bow to your will so that
nothing happens unless accomplished by you.
Judge us wherever necessary.
Open our eyes to see where we are wrong and where
something does not go according to your Spirit.
Be with us and give us strength.
Raise up more watchmen everywhere,
in every place and in every home.
Wherever something happens to move people's hearts,
let the watchmen proclaim,
"This comes from God.
It does not matter how much we suffer.
This comes from Jesus Christ,
who suffered and died,
but who rose again."
Raise up such watchmen among young and old
everywhere on earth,
to the glory of your name.
Let there be a people who go to meet you
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving.

name and witnessing to you.
For you are strong and can protect us.
You can fill us with light and with joy to proclaim
again and again the salvation that is coming through
your all-powerful goodness and mercy,
salvation in Jesus Christ the Lord.

We thank you for the trust you have put into our hearts.

for always giving us fresh courage wherever we may be,

who also struggle hard to find what is good.
O Lord God,
bless our world with power from on high,
with your gifts that bring good to many people.

Father God, In Jesus precious name, I turn to you for help now. Please handle this situation I pray.

This is not scripture or even religious it was written by a lawyer from Indiana but I have always found it soothing:

        Go placidly amid the noise and the haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.
