Romans 15 : 1-7
KJV

1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak,
and not to please ourselves.
2 Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written,
The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime
were written for our learning,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
5 Now the God of patience and consolation
grant you to be likeminded one toward another
according to Christ Jesus:
6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God,
even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Wherefore receive ye one another,
as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

We come before you and thank you with all our hearts.
You know all that we are thankful for.
Continue to sustain us, we pray,
and give us strength for the paths on which you lead us.
Even when we must suffer and fight long, hard battles,
we know that everything has its right purpose
and will still lead us to your goal.
For all this we praise and thank you.
Protect us in mind, heart, and spirit. Keep us courageous,
and lift us above all discouragement through your Spirit,
who will renew our lives forevermore.

In the Name of the Most Holy we
pray in Jesus' Name

Amen

Luke 12 : 1-12
KJV

1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an
innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode
one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all,
Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 For there is nothing covered,
that shall not be revealed; neither hid,
that shall not be known.
3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness
shall be heard in the light;
and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets
shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
4 And I say unto you my friends,
Be not afraid of them that kill the body,
and after that have no more that they can do.
5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear:
Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea,
I say unto you, Fear him.
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings,
and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men,
him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
9 But he that denieth me before men
shall be denied before the angels of God.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

We thank you that we need never feel forsaken.
We thank you that we are led and guided by your hand.
We thank you for all we have received from you,
your care for our bodies, for our material needs,
and for our inner life.
We praise you, O God!
Continue to lead us, we pray.
Continue to work among us so that we can all see
and come to know that the
Good Shepherd is leading us.

Matthew 5 : 1-11
KJV

1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain:
and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek:
for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:
for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful:
for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart:
for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you,
and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil
against you falsely, for my sake.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

Be with us.
Touch us with Your Spirit so that our hearts may
receive something from You.
Let us find joy even in a life of struggle and temptation.
Let us find joy in every need we face,
even in the agony of death.
Protect us through your Word, and let it always be a light
to us so that we can follow You and do Your will.
Be with us on all our ways.
Guide everything with Your hand until the goal for
all humankind is reached and we may rejoice over
all the trials and testing because in the end
the glorious prize can be won.

Ecclesiastes 11 : 6-10
KJV

6 In the morning sow thy seed,
and in the evening withhold not thine hand:
for thou knowest not whether shall prosper,
either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.
7 Truly the light is sweet,
and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun:
8 But if a man live many years,
and rejoice in them all;
yet let him remember the days of darkness;
for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.
9 Rejoice, O young man,
in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth,
and walk in the ways of thine heart,
and in the sight of thine eyes:
but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart,
and put away evil from thy flesh:
for childhood and youth are vanity.

Today's Prayer...

Lord God,

We thank You as we look back to the times
throughout the ages when Your servants lifted a voice
to witness that You are our Father,
that You lead the peoples to their true goal.
However long it may take,
we thank You for allowing us to be part of this witness.
We thank You that so much love and goodness
still shine into our time as a light to the nations.
Watch over us.
May Your Spirit grow stronger and stronger within us.
Bring the redemption proclaimed by Your servants,
and let Your light dawn over all lands to the honor of Your name.

Matthew 16:23-28
KJV

23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan:
thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God,
but those that be of men.
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it:
and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited,
if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his
Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man
according to his works.
28 Verily I say unto you,
There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death,
till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

We thank You that You are our Father
and that we may have You with us.
We thank You that we can know You are leading us by Your hand.
Give us Your Spirit of understanding so that we may always
see Your mighty and powerful hand guiding us on all our ways.
Help us where we fall short. Help us, for we are weak and are
often in situations where we cannot help ourselves.
But You are strong.
You give light to our hearts.
Through the Savior, Jesus Christ, we can direct our lives
cheerfully, joyfully, and patiently toward the great goal
set before us Your children,
and before the whole world.

Psalm 59 : 6-13
KJV

6 They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog,
and go round about the city.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth:
swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
8 But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them;
thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
9 Because of his strength will I wait upon thee:
for God is my defence.
10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me:
God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget:
scatter them by thy power;
and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of
their lips let them even be taken in their pride:
and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them,
that they may not be: and let them know that
God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

We rejoice that You are our Father.
We rejoice that You rule and guide each of us so
that our path in life leads to what is good and genuine
and we do not get stuck in this or that concern.
Lead us, renew us, and again and again free us
to go forward, finding new courage and joy for
ourselves and for our fellowmen.
Then we can praise You,
Your strength and power can be revealed to us,
Your heaven come down to earth,
and Your will be done on earth.
Here on earth Your help shall come to the
poor, the weak, the lowly, the sick, and the suffering.
May your name be praised!
We rejoice in Your name.
