Romans 6 : 14-23
KJV

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you:
for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin,
because we are not under the law,
but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not,
that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey,
his servants ye are to whom ye obey;
whether of sin unto death,
or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked,
that ye were the servants of sin,
but ye have obeyed from the heart that
form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin,
ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men
because of the infirmity of your flesh:
for as ye have yielded your members servants
to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity;
even so now yield your members servants
to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin,
ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things
whereof ye are now ashamed?
for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin,
and become servants to God,
ye have your fruit unto holiness,
and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

May we receive Your Spirit
so that we win the victory over ourselves
and over the world around us,
not with our human crudeness, force, and clamor,
but only through Your
Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.
Help each of us in our own particular situation.
We all know there is much evil around us;
there is much we must fight.
But in Jesus’ name we want to plunge right in,
right into the world,
right into whatever suffering is meant for us
in the midst of the evil that is not yet overcome.
In Jesus’ name we go toward the great victory
that will come when all who are granted
Your joy will praise You with all their hearts,
O Father in heaven.
"

In the Name of the Most Holy we
pray in Jesus' Name

Amen

Psalms 13
KJV

1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.)
How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever?
how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
having sorrow in my heart daily?
how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God:
lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

4 Lest mine enemy say,
I have prevailed against him;
and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy;
my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the LORD,
because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Today's Prayer...

Lord God Almighty,

We thank You that You have revealed Your glory
in Your Son Jesus Christ.
We thank You that today we can still see and feel the
glorious grace which streams out from Jesus Christ in His
victory over the world,
the powerful help which benefits all those who find faith.
Grant that a further glory may be revealed,
faith dwelling in the hearts of all people,
faith that can conquer all the need and suffering on earth,
faith that is the power to look to You,
to become inwardly quiet in You, and to hope in You at all times.
Then Your help will come quickly,
more quickly than we can imagine.
It will come on us unawares,
for the Savior has said,
“See, I shall come quickly.”
We want to hope and believe and trust till the end.

Hebrews 4 : 1-10
KJV

1 Let us therefore fear, lest,
a promise being left us of entering into his rest,
any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached,
as well as unto them:
but the word preached did not profit them,
not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest,
as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath,
if they shall enter into my rest:
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise,
And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again,
If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein,
and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day,
saying in David,
To day, after so long a time; as it is said,
To day if ye will hear his voice,
harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest,
then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest,
he also hath ceased from his own works,
as God did from his.

Today's Prayer...

Dear Father in heaven,

We thank You.
We want to be ready to thank You at all times.
We look forward with joy to Your kingdom
and await the redemption that will free us
to the very depth of our being,
to the praise and thanks and honor of Your name.
Be with the many people who come hungering
and thirsting to You.
Bring deliverance to those whose hearts are true,
and let them know that the power of Your kingdom
is truly present here on earth in
Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Isaiah 53 : 2-9
KJV

2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant,
and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness;
and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned every one to his own way;
and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
yet he opened not his mouth:
he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,
so he openeth not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment:
and who shall declare his generation?
for he was cut off out of the land of the living:
for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death;
because he had done no violence,
neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

We thank You
that You have called us Your children,
a people who may serve You even in
suffering and temptation.
Grant that the grace of Jesus Christ
may be in us so that we can be
victorious over everything that life
puts in our way and can withstand
the distress that surrounds so many people.
O Lord our God, our only refuge,
to You alone can we appeal for evil to end
and for the victory of Jesus Christ
to break through.
In that hour we shall rejoice
and be glad as Your people.

Ephesians 2 : 5-13
KJV

5 Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ,
( by grace ye are saved; )

6 And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly
places in Christ Jesus:

7 That in the ages to come he might
shew the exceeding riches of his grace in
his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works,
lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we
should walk in them.

11 Wherefore remember,
that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh,
who are called Uncircumcision by that
which is called the Circumcision in the
flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ,
being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel,
and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world:

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes
were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

In praise and thanksgiving we
look toward Your kingdom and the reign of
Jesus Christ in Your kingdom.
We rejoice that You make Him Lord not
only in heaven but also on earth,
where He will gain the victory in all mankind.
Men will become good and will love one another,
and they will find peace when everything
is done according to Your will.
For the time must come when,
on earth as in heaven,
Your will is done everywhere and in everything.
Be with us with your Spirit so that we may
stand firm as Your children until the moment
comes for us to exult: Up out of all grief
and trouble! Up from evil and death! Up to You,
our Father in heaven!
Praise to Your name today while we are still groaning.
Glory to Your kingdom.
Glory to Jesus Christ our Savior,
whom You have given us.

Hebrews 3 : 7-19
KJV

7 Wherefore
(as the Holy Ghost saith,
To day if ye will hear his voice,

8 Harden not your hearts,
as in the provocation,
in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9 When your fathers tempted me,
proved me, and saw my works forty years.

10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation,
and said, They do alway err in their heart;
and they have not known my ways.

11 So I sware in my wrath,
They shall not enter into my rest.
)

12 Take heed, brethren,
lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief,
in departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily,
while it is called To day;
lest any of you be hardened through
the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we are made partakers of Christ,
if we hold the beginning of our
confidence stedfast unto the end;

15 While it is said,
To day if ye will hear his voice,
harden not your hearts,
as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke:
howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years?
was it not with them that had sinned,
whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom sware he that
they should not enter into his rest,
but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not
enter in because of unbelief.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

We look to Your Holy Spirit.
Unite us with Your Spirit, we pray.
May we be children of Your Spirit,
ruled throughout our lives by Your Spirit.
There is so much else around us wanting
to teach us and claiming to represent the
truth, and we are full of fear unless help
comes from Your Spirit alone.
Your Spirit comes to us as helper and comforter,
who helps us find the way to go.
Hear us, Your children,
whom You want to lead and whose
Savior You want to be through Jesus Christ,
our Lord.

Psalms 1
KJV

1 Blessed is the man that walketh
not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted
by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so:
but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall
not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way
of the righteous:
but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Today's Prayer...

Lord our God,

Protect us in Your Spirit.
Strengthen our hearts especially when we
often have to bear suffering,
that we may be steadfast in hope
and may again and again experience
a day of salvation.
Protect us in every way.
Accept our praise and thanks,
and let our hearts rejoice in
what You have already done for us.
We want to discern Your ways
more and more so that
we may please You as Your servants.
