hey, laizerfiest. not a violation of any rule. *we only made rules a few weeks back when so many came on board.*
it is true what u say.
but, mental health facilities on a college campus, or a clinic, they will charge u less for the visit. and, they do write this script for those in need.
and, it will be real.
i am fine, laizer. And, may u have an awesome holiday as well. congratulations on ur continuing hard work to defeat the meds u don't need. So proud of u. (its in another thread. i know, i am bad to the bone.)
Hey Laizer,
That is pretty sound advice, I just wanted to add a note of clarification.
Do not be mistaken I am not suggesting anyone should do anything illegal, like deceiving an md to get meds. (Not sure if that's illegal or not actually.)
But let's be honest, MDs are trained to always be on the lookout for drug seeking patients, and it sucks, but if you go into an appointment knowing exactly what you need for your condition, even if you've done your homework and have stone cold facts, and/or past experiences/scripts, backing you up, to most MDs being honest with them like this with throw up red flags of a textbook drug seeking patient.
Obviously MDs are people and everybody's different and there are probably a lot that are pretty reasonable. But even so, I think its safe to say that most would prefer to back up a medical decision with a patient file(history) that will cover their butt if a mistake is made.
So as Lazier suggested, one must "steer" the doc to the treatment of preference. You don't need to be dishonest, you just need to play dumb. I know it sucks but unfortunately that's the world we live in. Educated patients are unwelcome.
I would love to go into more detail, providing anecdotes and whatnot, but this is kind of a risky topic for a public forum. I just wanted to set the record straight, nobody's saying be dishonest, it's just that if you are honestly educated about your condition and the treatments that work, you're going to have an easier time if you just bite your lip.
It's just not that easy to get adderall from a doc anymore, at least where I'm at Florida. If I didn't have such a severe case of ADD and it wasn't causing extreme problems in my marriage I would give up trying to get it prescribed. I'm currently on vyvanse which helps modestly but not enough to make me as functional as I need to be. Been to two psychs now, both willing to try Ritalin or Vyvanse but not Adderall..and I have all the testing done to back up my diagnosis. I am going to try one more psychiatrist, I have an appointment next month. For me, I've never tried Adderall and it's also kind of "I need to know" thing, I need to know if this is the best I can be and if I'm going to struggle with these limitations most people don't have a clue about the rest of my life or if Adderall could be the answer for me.
good luck, nitelifer.
keep in mind that if adderall is not making the multi billionaire drug industry big money, it may not be continued.
it's a crying shame, as when one has an autoimmune illness, the accompanying narcolepsy can be defeated by Adderall.
I hope u find solace with ur new Doct. appointment. So, u know if this can help u significantly again.
Good luck.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my message and wish me well : )
In the past I was prescribed ritalin, and at the same time my friend was prescribed adderall. I've tried both and at least back then I honestly preferred ritalin. But back then things were different, I was different.
If you just want to try it you might have better luck finding someone who is already prescribed and getting a couple off them to try. Who knows you may find, like I did, you like ritalin more, and you wont have to spend all the time and energy "steering" a doc.
Both Adderall (Dextroamphetamine) and Ritalin (Methylphenidate) are powerful central nervous system stimulants and should be approached with great care.
In particular, one should be prepared to monitor their blood pressure as a little too much of either could well put you over the proverbial top.
Both stress the nervous system and, depending on amount taken, could have terrible come downs.
As with any medication, care must be taken to understand how these stimulants coexist with other meds you might be taking. Â Even something as benign as coffee could make for a very unpleasant experience.
Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. I take adderall 30s XR. Will not take IR. I get highly irritated and violent when IR runs out, roughly 4-5 hrs at most for me. As far as the vyvanse thing, only difference is the adderall has 4 d-amphetamines, while vyvanse only has one of those 4. But that one is the strongest one.
Docs get ideas and opinions formed many times bc of the ppl that r supervising them. Meaning, they r just making sure they're ass is covered, as far as the patient, well I guess u hope ur doc/nurse practitioner is one of the good ones who listens to ur input..
I got lucky, after burning through 6 docs at least in less than a ur, I finally found the perfect one. I get prescribed 3 things all at once that most would have trouble getting even one.
But as far as Vyvanse goes, it works very differently than adderall. A 70mg vyvanse has been said to roughly equal a 30mg adderall XR. Personally, I would b extremely upset if I was switched to vyvanse or concerta.
Though concerta, being Ritalin XR, is much better alternative to Ritalin IR than vyvanse is for adderall, not a big fan of either.
Good luck to all,
Regards to my ppl, Charon and D.
D plz email or pm, I need to know what u think about our earlier contact.

Way too expensive, no thanks.
Rather take my chances on a research chemical.
Certain leaves of keratomi will give you ridiculous amounts of energy and WAAAAY cheaper.
