I'm debating the same thing. I think I'll move any contact info I didn't already have saved off-site to one of my new email addresses. I doubt I will keep using safemail on any regular basis. If a vendor insists on continuing to use it, that will be a more difficult decision, guess it depends on the vendor's inventory! But to answer your question, I wouldn't use it again, they've made it clear they value their premium members far more than their free members.
I was reading somewhere that venders did NOT want to use safemail, time will  tell.
I cant believe that some upon occasion use hushmail and we all know what happened there a couple years back....

I would be weary about using them as well, after what they said about the 250K accounts being deleted and what not. I wonder if they are still "safe" to use. I hope someone has more insight on this problem.

I wouldn't, they openly told us that they gave everything to the fbi. I also think it's funny that there servers go down and then fbi wants info from them.. That doesn't make sense. I'm not going to use my account any more and I actually have emailed them asking for a refund of my money since my emails are no longer private. That's the reason we pay for these services right? So we don't have to worry about private things we may be sending to people. ( medical, financial, ect). I also lost a lot of my recent emails which I definitely don't want le reading!

Oh wow, I must have missed that! I did not know they handed info over to the FBI and that the FBI was inquiring into their users emails. I saw the article about it being the email the darknet uses, but found it to be slightly inaccurate as most darknet users are using an onion email. I will have to read into the FBI probes, not good

Yea it's funny how they go down and the fbi all of a sudden wants info on there customers... That sounds a little fishy if you ask me.

Staying away from safemail, there's other options out there!

Yes.Â
You guys are ok. They are after bigger fishies than you.Â
IF you still have addresses etc in those accounts, or there are replies from here, or anything damning, I would probably have them deleted.Â
Didn't Hushmail have that function? I'm sure it was them. I had messages set to delete and, I don't have real or actual addresses/ Names in my folders. I mean I use addresses, bu instead I try to memorize them. I hate that there are still some... few people who still use Gmail. So it's a good thing that our... reliable friends (some) from here, have fairly simple usernames.
I was checking out the most recent Outlook email client. I liked it.Â
The Guardians have a few cool toys out there to help with this stuff. Actually, riseup.net are also pretty good. Just gotta be able to read, and have TIME. I forgot my pwd for my proton. So I'm waiting for a new one.
I figure that I could use some random for um or something of the sort to sort out my keys and stuff...

I just switched any info I needed from my safe mail acct and won't use it again..
Oh yeah? I haven't used tutanota yet. Um, so do you mean that you are using safe mails servers? @Swampthing
I'm playing around with Outlook.Â
I had something similar in mind, with a few more twists and turns. Have fun with it, and let me know how you go?

Ciao!
I thought y'all were talking about code black. LOL.. I gotta start watching t.v or something. Sleep? Nah. This is far too much fun.
