to all our members:

I want to start a thread dedicated to caregiving. We have some real experts here at .org that could share their techniques and experiences. It is an important and demanding task that begs insight and suggestions. It can also be a trying experience at times.....so venting is allowed. We can all benefit from the posts....as there is a good chance that at sometime in our lives we may all be caregivers.

Please contribute your thoughts and feelings on this most important subject....knowing that all of us who read the posts will benefit.

When we are helping others we become less proccuppied with ourselves.....and the rewards can be remarkable.
Anything goes as long as it relates to caregiving........problems, insights, venting from fatigue, ungrateful recipients, drumming up the courage when you don't have the energy.

The rewards and joys felt and seen.

It's all welcome here......

I don't think it's going to be a top pop thread.....but it is so appropriate to the spirit of our forum......and we all have something to learn AND to teach.

We can even talk about the caregiving we give to ourselves......for example, I am always reminding me to be "gentle with myself".

It's a big wide open subject.....thanks for asking Mr K.

If you caregive..........keep these points in mind.

I have just become the caregiver for my mom.Thank you Popster for the information I can use all the help I can get.
Sudsy, I shall keep u and ur family in prayer. I have always been my family caregiver.

I cannot post about it. But, please feel free to PM me anytime. I shall give u my email.

Its one of the toughest, yet most rewarding accomplishments of one's life.

May God grant you wisdom, good help, respite care, and faith and strength to bring you through.

I shall add your beloved mom to my daily prayers, my friend.

True dat Kittycat. A caregiver NEEDS to make time for themselves to keep their sanity.

I was the only one caring for my mom with no help. Having the health problems I have, it was so hard on my body having to get up every 5 mins. when she would call for me to do something. I started to find myself getting angry all the time because I was in pain so much. I hate myself now for fussin' at her when I would be hurting or tired. I hated being like that.

You have to find a way to take a break now and then.
