how does everyone freel about lorzapam as far as side effects & benefits. I have never had a script for it and was curious if it might help me with anxiety and sleep and maybe mild depression ?
I've been prescribed Ativan for the past several years for occasional use and it really is a huge help. I take 1mg when I'm having a bad day and within
a half hour I'm usually feeling better. I do also use it for sleeping from time to time and it work well. If you are going to try it start with a small dose
of .5mg-1mg and see how it makes you feel. My wife has tried mine when she runs out of zopiclone for sleeping and she prefers her zopiclone.
I can say from experience and advice from this board that any benzo probably isn't a good idea to use for sleep. Tolerance will build very fast and before you know it you'll need 4 - 5mg to sleep. And as a little research will tell you benzos are not something you want to be messing around with. The horrors of withdrawal are legendary.

Exercise, not sleeping in the day before and some over the counter sleepeze work the best for me. I take my x@n@x for anxiety when needed but treat it with great respect. Less anxiety also helps with depression as the two are like brothers. Hope this helps
Thanks Bry, I do know about the the hours of becoming withdraw,Xanax ,vals are the worst first me. I'm looking for something short -term that let's me get real sleep and yes more exercise and yoga to go along with good health
My doc switched me from Xanax to Ativan about a month ago and I have no problems with it. I though I would miss the Xanax but that has been fine

I have been on both and I have to say that Ativan is much more affective.
For me Ativan was good for sleep, as in helping me fall asleep and then stay asleep. Anything else it felt like it did nothing (anxiety) compared to kpin or xanax.

Did you tried trazodone ? between 50 to 100mg do the work, plus is not a benzo plus is one of the few meds that increase REM sleep.

Maybe you should try a supplement like Melatonin, 5-HTP or GABA. My wife is a health nut so no Benzo's for her
but like the rest of us she has trouble sleeping and this is what she would recommend. Hope this helps a little.
There are really good combination on amazon, or you can buy the bulk powder or pills of what Jvancouver told you. Best part if that if work for you, this do not affect the REM sleep and are not addictive.
