As we all know different medication affect different people different ways. As far as Benzo's with me Alp's work best for relieving my anxiety from PTSD and help me get that good nights sleep when you dont toss and turn. My doctor had me on Clon's but never seemed to do anything for me. The same with Val's. Ativan did the job for me as well but it made me "stupid" and I cannot afford dumb mistakes at work. I am greatful that through a combination of Alp's and occasional MOM, meditation and several other techniques I have managed to keep this nightmarish anxiety (PTSD) in check but it's always there in the back of my mind.. The bad thing with Alps is the addiction and seizures it can cause if abused or stopped abruptly. Find out what works best for you, sometimes doctors don't always know best and you are the best source of information on your body and the affects these different medications have. What works for me may not work for you but keep those Benzo;s under control. Dangerous stuff when abused
Peace All and have a great day
Clonz always gave me a heavier feeling than xans. My personal ranking system as far as side effects starting with the strongest feeling is clonz, valz, xans, ativanz. I am prescribed valz once before bed every night. They work when I get them built up in my system but I've been taking my spouses zanz once before bed for over a year now. I find them much more cleaner and when I wake up I am not ad sedated as clonz or valz. I do remember when I was on clonz I had more of a psychotropic feeling from them and mood swings would ensue. When I was on ativanz they were for immediate relief but lasted very short in comparison to the others. At one point I was prescribed valz before bed and ativanz for during the day when I had an anxiety attack. Not something I'd recommend if you can avoid it as most of us know. But then it became more of maintenance. 7-8 years later my anxiety/panic is almost under control with this routine. They wanted me to take an ssri for general anxiety/severe panic disorder. I refused since I am not into changing my seritonin levels when my psych found the benz to be more effective in the long run. So in my opinion zans are much more effective for me. You won't know until try to take them both and report to your doctor what the outcome is. Of course any benz taken in excess can cause a heavy sedating feeling but my try with all of them zanz where the best fit for me. Trial and error will find out your best ever results for me. Hope this helps and find what works for now. Good luck finding what works. It's all trial and error.
Exactly... You just have to find out which med's works best for your own body chemistry.. Everyone is diffferent
Peace
I personally think that for long term anxiety clonazepam is far superior. I use it. Don't get me wrong I keep alps around for attacks and when clons just won't do it. But if you are experiencing prolonged or severe anxiety and have no benzo experience I would start with a small dose of clonazepam. If that works for you then you will be happier in the long run. With alps short half life if you are not careful you could find yourself in trouble before you realize it. JMO . But whatever treatment you choose be careful and try to keep dose as low as possible.
I’m my opinion it’s all based on the individual. But I can’t stress enough taking into account the half life of certain things. It’s extremely important.

Clonazepam has always been a Godsend to me.
When I first took it is was like somebody switched on the lights. Social phobia gone. Mild seizures & paranoia gone. I don't get any of the brain fog/memory issues that I get with every other benzo.
I also do not feel the need to constantly increase dosage- which a lot of people fail to believe. I realise now that I need it to simply feel normal rather than any mild euphoria etc but I wouldn't go back and stop me taking it 20 years ago.
Mind you- it was a lot easier to get hold off back then!
