Sorry, the thread subject is a little harsh, but I just spent three hours in the ER because my EX EX EX significant other decided to spend the afternoon drinking and then I happened to be his first victim!! So Sorry I have had a cold and didn't go to the store or make dinner.
Hopefully where he is now they will give him some crackers and water!!!!
I get so sick of hearing how our government regulates painkillers and other meds that people need, but they can just pour alcohol down peoples throats!!
I'm sorry for the rant, but I'm not feeling to great right now!!

Took me a minute, but I realized it wasn't worth it ... So I quit ... Somebody gave me a bottle of my favorite "Crown" Christmas (2 years ago) and it's still sittin in the cabinet ...

You have us to listen and sometimes we all need that anonomus(sp) friend that cares .. You have a whole bunch here ... Of coarse people can change, but I'd make them prove it before they ever walked back to my house! It can and does become a dangerous situation ... You deserve better ... Never forget that ... Never "settle"... Life is too short to live in fear of sayin the wrong word or doin the wrong thing ...
That's the very reason I do not drink today, not because I "don't like it" ... It's the way I become I don't like .... My SO deserves better than I can give her and if someone truely loves you, they would feel the same for you ... You are worth at the very least respect ...

He drinks beer 24/7 - well you know what I mean - starts his day with beer at 4 or 5 AM and drinks all day. It's just every now and then he goes on a 'bender' with the hard stuff.
I guess in the past it has been my fault because I didn't press charges. But from what they told me last night at the ER, the police will be pressing the charges this time. I have paperwork to read thru. As far as bail - they didn't mention it and I ain't asking!!!

now, that the LE presses the charges, mandatory, he cannot blame u.

anyone whom considers himself a man, does not get inebriated and then make u into a punching bag. they always lie and cry and promise it will never happen again. he will be charming. don't fall for it.
and, yeah, i never drank cuz i saw it made some people mean.
but, its no excuse he hit up hard liquer or whatever he claimed.
there is no reason to ever touch a woman in anger.
u may need an order of protection. call the court clerks. they are wise and they are kind. they will let u know.
be on heightened alert. carry whatever mace u can have. and i mean carry it when u walk to ur car. if u go down to ur basement. there are american defense type places. and they sell, for protection, stun guns. mace.
can u change all ur locks? he is an ex ex ex rite? he has no rite to be present at ur premises unless invited?
then go for order of protection.
i had alarms around my doors when i lived in a bad area. alarms are cheap and worth it for windows also.
i just don't know if this scumbucket is sitting in jail and somehow trying to blame u.
call the court clerks at ur local bar association. ur local court house. ask how to go about obtaining an order of protection. get copies of the police reports. have pictures of ur injuries. document ur injjuries. get in on record from a doctor as soon as u can.
but i want u safe. i believe in a woman carrying weaponry. at least real mace.
God will protect u. Your life has been one fresh hell after another of late. Unreal.
Stay safe for us. But, be vigilant. We don't know his frame of mind when he is released. I sure hope u belong to NRA.
And i pray this jail time will make him reconsider going near u again. But, I would never, not for one minute, be alone with this man again. Not now and maybe not ever. Stay safe.

Men that do that to women deserve to be beaten to a pulp in my opinion. Might sound mean of me, but dammit, they need to learn a lesson and see how it feels to be on the receiving of a beating.
Just make sure you protect yourself the best you can and then some. People are goin' nuts and who knows what they're capable of? You must take care of YOU. Do what Charon has said. She knows her stuff.
